Are Barnes & Nobles still a thing? Pretty soon they'll be unveiling Oregon's uni's in a blockbuster...

"Classic" does not mean it gets a free pass for being bad design.

That's good to hear, I've always hated their current piped mess. Hopefully it won't include anthracite though. ^_^

They run a lot of college bookstores.

B&N got a big contract to run a lot of college book stores a year or two ago. My local community college was taken over by B&N about a year ago and it downright sucks.

B&N has been running a lot of college bookstores for at least a decade.

Well it is Vanderbilt so it makes sense to unveil them in a bookstore. It would almost make more sense to do it at their library so more students could attend.

An excerpt from the media release

"Franklin expects to see a large turnout of Commodore fans at the unveiling, which will feature the team's 16 seniors serving as models."

Wonder if each will wear a different combination or if there would be repeats. I figure there will be 3 jerseys, 3 pants, and at least the 2 helmets from last year. You have to wonder though if Vandy will add a white helmet or if Franklin will figure that is to much like Tennessee his rival from the east.

N'Western jersey tease video:

Fixed so it actually shows

So a sublimated stonework/ivy pattern in the striping and numbers?

If it were adidas, that's exactly what I would expect. I hope UA can be a bit more original than that. The entire video sounded like and interview with Nike's college graphic identity group (i forget the exact name) from about 5 years ago.

At least with Duke the athletic program has used black a lot in the past that it's basically a school color at this Point, if it isn't officially

Hmm that's quite interesting. Good catch!

Its listed as a school color but not one of their athletic colors.

Duke's official colors are PMS 287 (a Prussian Blue) and white. Royal Blue is used for athletics, but technically that is not "Duke Blue" - black has NEVER been at anytime an official school color, it first popped up in the cursive "Duke" in the football helmets in the fall of 1994 and most famously in the home basketball opener in November 1996 against St. Joseph's where St. Joseph's agreed to let Duke wear new "road" uniforms in Cameron for the grand unveiling of the black basketball uniform. Since then black has been used as an "alternate" color creeping into all of the athletic uniforms. There have been a lot of discussions about what exactly, is the correct Duke Blue, which Duke first tried to establish in the 1960s, but appears as inconsistent colors. Blue first appeared at Duke based on Yale blue in the 1880s Here is the article that addresses this issue and it is a fascinating read:

Good: The phrase "Reclaim the Stripe" was shown a piece of paper. Adidas brought them back the past couple years, I hope Under Armour keeps them. A plus would be if they changed the striping on the purple and black jerseys so that black isn't directly touching the purple.

Bad: He made such a big deal about the ivy. I hope they don't do anything with that. When you think of ivy, especially in Chicago, you think of Wrigley above anything else. And Northwestern's connection with Wrigley to most people is getting run out of the park by Illinois on a field that they couldn't fit in.

Northwestern has been using the slogan "Chicago's Big Ten team", so it wouldn't surprise me if there was some ivy element in the uniform.

I'm sure they are going to use the stripes. They even had a sketch of them in the video.

Well, a stained glass striping pattern is exactly what Under Armour did for Boston College, so that's pretty much what I expect here.

All 32 possible uniform combinations for WVU. Taken straight from Wikipedia (so perhaps our old friend JohnnySeoul made these?)

The navy helmet looks like it might work pretty well with the grey jersey.

Maybe this post belongs in the "Unpopular Opinions" thread, but I like our new grey jerseys a lot. I don't know if I'll buy one when I go back in August, but it's pretty cool for an alternate.

This is also coming from someone who loves the gold jerseys and the all gold uniforms for the Gold Rush games, so I guess all of my posts belong in the unpopular opinions thread.

You don't need an alternate when you only play 12 games a season, and you certainly don't need two alternates. That doesn't even get into the stupidity of having two helmets and four sets of pants. Even with that aside, WVU's gray set is horrible.

Out of the 32, I'd say six are fantastic, and the other 26 look like garbage.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
