2013 MLB Logo and Uniform Changes

It's not every team, but a lot of them play their final exhibition games at home, or a place close to home, or a neutral site. There have been Cubs-Sox spring games in Vegas for a while now.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Giants gold trim jerseys will be based on the road alternate!

Man I wish so hard that jersey was orange rather than cream, but it's hard to complain about a championship jersey.

I REALLY hope this doesn't lead to the Giants adding plackett piping to their regular home jerseys. But, if they made a home alt that was similar to the road in everything but the color, I'd be fine with that.

Ideally, they would leave their regular home and road set piping free, while adding three alts (home, road, alt) with the SF logo and the piping. I know I know, it's jersey overkill. But in a sport where you play 162 games a season, it wouldn't be too offensive IMO (but I'm sure some of you would still disagree).

The only reason they went with this jersey is to sell more merch.. if they wore the normal home jerseys again nobody would buy them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Rockies have 2 patches already? Not sure what they'd do with this one.

The patch is being worn on the chest, similar to a hockey captain's C.

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

Less than one game in and the Astros plain radially arched block wordmark is already tired. If anybody should have a stylized wordmark across their chests it's the Astros.

At least they're in the correct colors.

Oh man, the Astros look TERRIBLE.

Better than the Rangers at least. :P

No. Not really.

The Astros' previous identity was gold. They maybe could've done a re-color to navy and orange, but these new unis are a bore.

Agree , this isn't 1965. Hell, if they had gone full tequila sunrise I'd have been happy. Looks like a team that should have a Denny's sponsorship on the back.

I'm just gonna pull a bit from what I put in the Thrift Store Gems thread.

Look, I know that a lot of people really love when the Astros dress like the Tigers because it reminds them of the days when they were playing on the living room carpet and somehow being even more forgettable competitively than they are right now, but there is NO WAY this change can even be considered a lateral move. They look terrible. D Backs need to return to purple and teal, and the Stros never should've ditched the black and brick. At least not for this crap. This change is by far the change I've disliked the most since I started paying attention to logos and uniforms.

I have been a life long Astros fan, and the blue and gold era is never what comes to my mind when I think about the Houston Astros.

Sharp. That's how I describe these 'Stros unis. They look like baseball uniforms. The team looks sharp. Good uniform.

This is pretty much how I see them, too. Are they extraordinarily unique? Absolutely not, but I can't say anything bad about the way they look.

Fool's gold, maybe. But the Olde Weste look was ludicrously incongruous for a team named after the Space Age. Silly all around.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are still saddled with those awful black dropshadows muddying up their look. Couple that with the thorny font and their NoBs are damn near illegible. They don't need a radical overhaul as the Astros did, but they sure as hell need a tweak.
