Craig Anderson's been placed on the IR with (another) hand injury.

If this lasts over a couple of weeks, Ottawa could find themselves sliding towards the lottery discussion, unless Lehner finally comes around. Andy's no doubt the Sens' MVP so far this season, and the only reason they've been able to stay around a [bettman] .500; while Lehner's putting up numbers like an Oilers goalie.

How is Anaheim leading the league in points right now? Are they decimated with injuries, because I didn't expect them to get beat handily by San Jose and Chicago and yet...here we are.

The Blackhawks may not catch Nashville/St. Louis, yet it feels like their Cup to lose.

They didn't even win it last year bro. Sure, they're good and all and they'll be there in May annoying the piss out of everyone again, but to just give it to them is a little heavy.

That said, I'd like to see the Perds or Blues represent the West. Tarasenko is becoming a beast in front of our eyes and Stasny and Steen are pretty great forwards right now. Let them have their moment.

Because they've collected more standings points than any other team in the league...

Simply put, teams have bad games during any long season and they played like garbage yesterday and today. I can't put a finger on the exact reason (although, San Jose was largely on Bryzgalov's shoulders) but, yup, they sure got beat.

Could you imagine Nashville raising the cup? It'd be too weird. I hope St Louis ends their cup virginity but my money is on Anaheim.

Right, I pinned the loss at SJ on Bryz as well but considering their place in the standings, I don't understand how they get dominated by two conference foes, especially on consecutive nights. You'd imagine it would've been much tighter, but the highlights didn't show many positives for your guys. Weird all around.

The Ducks are unbeatable in tight games but sporadically drop big steaming piles where they lose by three or more. They're a highly evolved version of the 2012 Panthers.

Hey, let's all bask in the glow of Mike Smith letting in five goals on 20 shots! Only four years with a $5.5 million cap hit left on that deal, right?

What an ugly win that was.

Watching how bad Edmonton has become recently after they were a fairly decent team from 1997-2006, I have sometimes felt like they sold their soul to the devil in 2006 for that Cup run.

I was going to mock this for suggesting that a team would sell its soul to lose in the Final, but then I realized that it a very Oilers thing to do.

Interesting theory but I don't buy it. Pronger screwing them over, immediately after the finals, was a big part of the instant collapse, though they were going to need to rebuild soon regardless. The team simply lucked out by acquiring a goalie at the trade deadline who instantly became red hot. Had Roloson not been injured, I have no doubt the Oilers would have won in 6.
