Nothing gives a shoe design swagger like writing the word "swagger" in capital letters across the upper.

In the Miami Vice font, too. How original.

Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing and a miss.

It's not?

Are you looking at the same shoe as the rest of us?

Why are you being condescending about it? Yes I am looking at the same shoe. Someone else said it may not be the same exact font, but it's close.

Google 'Miami Vice font'. It's not that far off.

I didn't mean to sound condescending. I meant it as like, sarcasm.

The font is just one of the many issues wrong with the shoe.

Oh I agree, the whole shoe is terrible. Why in the world would anybody want swagger written on their shoe is beyond me. Miami players are going to hate Adidas but the University will have no remorse for taking the money.

Ever since they've decided to double down on cfb after losing nd, it really feels like this is a German company trying too hard to be cool in the eyes of american teens and it's failing miserably. Obviously they have a US hq in Portland but this crap they are trying to pass of in these promo shots is downright embarrassing.

I know that the designers they stole from nike are shoe guys but maybe they need to walk down the hall to the American Football department and have a heart to heart with those guys and set them straight.

I'm not one to typically harp on how we as a community overreact, but G-ddammit. It's a shoe. Nothing to get this worked up over.

Thank you.

on display at the NCAA coaching convention, can't imagine these are a finished product

Can't be, that's about how basic it gets.
most likely just a place holder. There's gotta be stripes in there somewhere on the finished product.

And why does the logo look really small?

I like it. It reminds me of the new Dolphins look, but with a better logo. Side by side with the Nike set they were just wearing (which I found to be sufficiently blah), this is definitely better.

Seriously guys? They have the exact same thing set up for Arizona State. They are just placeholders at AFCA. Adidas doesn't even take over the contracts for either team for months.

It's not the final product, but it's a lot closer to it for Miami than the "simple" one displayed for Arizona State.

Miami wanted last year's Nike redesign to be more simple than it was. Ultimately, they signed off on it, but it wasn't what they wanted.

The pattern that adidas set up with their other "traditional" clients like UCLA, Nebraska, Wisconsin and others of having a conservative, traditional "normal" look, then going all-out with one totally different alternate a year was VERY appealing to Miami during the negotiation process.

Based on this info, I would expect to see something like this, maybe with some 1980's-ish sleeve stripes.

Confirmed sample, early design and not a finished product. Also a picture of the cleats, plus sample coaching gear below.

I'd assume these areplace holders too since that jacket is from this year's sideline catalog. If they add the Michael Irvin era stripes on the sleeves and pants they should be ok. That tire tread pattern will still take away from the look.
