GoGamecocks29 Posted August 28, 2015 Share Posted August 28, 2015 UNC/South Carolina doing color on colorIt's gonna be a great-looking game! you got that right I wish this happened more often with rivalries whose color schemes have stark differences (as they do with USC-UCLA and BYU-Utah); makes for such a beautiful game.Florida State-Miami, Oklahoma-Texas, Michigan-Ohio State, Indiana-Purdue, Alabama-Tennessee, Maryland-Penn State, and Iowa-Nebraska are just some that come to mind.Carolina/UNC isn't a rivalry (anymore). Can ESPN block out from the neck down?The sleeve pattern looks more like insect wings than that of a cardinal or any sort of bird.Well I messed up that quote lol! tron1013 Posted August 28, 2015 Share Posted August 28, 2015 I thought that UConn's equipment manager obtained those Husky stripe helmets when they fell off an overloaded, NYC bound truck on I-91 headed to a sound studio for the new Power Rangers movie. They were so very, very awful. The new helmet is okay but the 2003-2012 block "C" helmet was light years better. GFGS sucks for UConn and I'm pretty disappointed in Nike for moving on so quickly from the greatest helmets UConn have ever worn:As for the earlier debate, I'm not a fan of teams wearing the same logo in multiple places of the same uniform. Be a little more creative than that. Not to mention logos on sleeves are a dated 80s look for me (albeit they were just thrown over sleeves stripes back then).I mean, yeah, Clemson's logo is iconic, but it's iconic for being so generic that any high school team with a feral feline mascot can recolor it and slap it on their uniforms. They put out a video and the equipment manager sounded like an idiot. I wonder if the helmet stripes are something the coaches wanted. I remember Kentucky doing that because it was easier for coaches to watch film on lineman with the stripes as opposed to clean. While I am disappointed with the BFBS and numbers on one side of the helmet, I am actually a fan of adding the stripe. Ball State's white helmets always looked very empty to me, especially with the clunky logo.BFBS?? Black is one of their colors... BFBS is when a team uses black on the uniforms if black isn't one of their colors...Im not sure about Ball State because I don't know their history with black, but I disagree. The new helmets look to have the same finish as the green Rose Bowl helmets. Rumors have said that Oregon would be getting new helmets without wings but they would maybe be keeping a couple winged helmets in the rotation.
