Man, Clemson has the worst logo

I think that belongs in the unpopular opinion thread, sir.

On a related note, Mr. Hawkeye, I've never liked Iowa's. Just not sure they could do anything at this point to top it simply because it would look like any other yellow bird logo, ala Southern Miss.

Or the tigerhawk has been around since the 80's and southern miss' logo is from.... 2005ish?

The Panthers could ditch the logo on the sleeves and move the stripes down and they'd look awesome. There's no reason for the same logo to be on the helmet and the sleeves concurrently. That's just redundant.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves for football teams. Clemson has had this look at times, too. Must be a Carolinas thing, lol?

This uniform is so close but yet so far.

- Helmet has a bold dark blue outline

- Logo on helmet has no outline

- Numeral has thin dark blue outline

Unify these elements and the set would be solid. Can never understand why they can't see this. Strange.

As aestheticly pleasing as that would be, Carolina has always had a wordmark of some sort, whether it'd be 'CAROLINA' or 'GAMECOCKS' on the front of the jerseys. And the stripes are kinda weird too. We have 11 total stripes (3 on the helmet, and 4 each on the helmets and pants), for the 11 buildings on The Horseshoe, which is the oldest part of USC's campus.

That's interesting, but SC has a press photo of the quarterback wearing 4 extra stripes on his base layer and 4 extra stripes on his socks. Perhaps someone at UA missed the memo.

I guess I never noticed it before, but South Carolina has a weird stripe, almost like an abbreviated UCLA stripe.

The shoulder panel is a little cluttered with all of those elements.

A better modern example would be a jersey from the same region as South Carolina - my very own Panthers. Similar to the Gamecocks, either the stripe or logo needs to go - it's so damn cluttered on the modern jersey fit.

The Panthers uniforms are pretty much perfect and shouldn't be altered (outside of dropping the hip logo, which I fully support). Ideally, they'd have an alternate logo on the sleeves. However, they've had the logo on the sleeves for all 20 seasons, so no reason to take it off now. The only change they really need to make is to wear their black jerseys for seven home games each season. Oh, and destroy the black pants.

Still off-topic, but why not do what the Steelers do and place the primary logo on the left chest?

That way you could move the numbers down to the sleeve, under the UCLA stripe. Also, that collar would look way better if it were black (and white on the white jersey).

Honestly, ever since the Panthers decided to needlessly downgrade their logo and get rid of the key line, the logo no longer works on the jersey. Especially on the black home jersey, where its a downright disaster.

This was ok

This, OTOH, looks like :censored:

And again, there is ZERO need for the Panthers to have the exact same logo on their uniforms in SIX different places. It's the very definition of redundant. Ditching it from the shoulders would be a solid move that I've warmed up to even more now that I've wasted this much time closely examining the Panthers uniforms :P

I agree that the logo update was unnecessary, but the result without the keyline on the black jersey looks better IMO.. Mainly because it's less noticeable.. I'd be for them dropping the primary logo from the sleeves altogether, change the Nike swoosh to blue, and lower it slightly on the sleeve.. Those things would clean up the look a good bit

For reference, here's that same uniform combo last year:

The tiger paw, especially in the last few years, is almost exclusively one color, so putting any outline around it is a no go. The *purple* outline on the numbers is also slightly thicker than that set from about 7 years ago.

As for moving the stripes, their stripes now are perfect. They're the only team which actually executes the shoulder loops properly, with them truncating at the cuffs rather than just ending in the middle of nowhere. The last thing they need to do is go to sleeve stripes and have little 4" wide color slashes on their sleeves.

This is the correct opinion.

I'm assuming you aren't a Panthers fan, don't see too many non-fans give them credit. A few changes like you outlined above and they're perfect. People who wan't to drop the silver are very strange to me, as the Raiders show as well, silver, black, and white are a nice color combo, along with the unique blue to differentiate the schemes. Love them, really hope they never seriously change them.

Yep. I'm a Bears fan. The Panthers' black jersey is one of the best uniforms in the league. It's a shame they don't wear it more. The blue is good, but pales in comparison to the black. With such a bright color, a little can go a long way. Other than wearing the black jerseys more, the only thing I think they should consider is dropping the white pants. But even with that, the all-white look isn't a deal breaker. I rather like the quirky contrast of black jersey-silver pants-black socks along with white-white-blue. The only problem is that they wear it 12 times a year.

I'd say wear the black jerseys for 6 games. Because the blue jerseys are too gorgeous to be only worn once. Unless you have them wearing them in a road game against a team who wears WAH.

Also the Panthers black pants/all black look is one of the only mono looks I like. Do I want it worn every game? No. But once or twice a season is fine.

Something kind of odd but also something that I find kind of cool. Adidas and "Soles By Sir" have announced that in one game this year, every single player on the University of Miami's roster will hit the field rocking a custom 1 of 1 pair painted just for them, each players will be completely unique.

I know most of you won't like this, but as a small sneakerhead myself, and one who has looked into the custom sneaker game before, I really appreciate this

Loserville aka Louisville have unveiled an alternate uniform to be worn at the September 17th game against Clemson:

At least you can see the cardinal on these helmets. Can ESPN block out from the neck down?
