Fishplatter
Marlins name their GM, Dan Jennings, as manager. The last time he coached was in high school in the 80s, so great move. this !Can I apply for this job. I have some managerial experience in over 3 season of fantasy baseball and 3 months of my sons little league as a 1st base coach. In all seriousness i think Loria called Jennings last night and said "Come on over let's watch Little Big League, eat some popcorn and drink some pop". After the movie, Loria leaned over to Jennings and said "See Dan if a kid can do it so can you. Let's call Manfred and let's tell him that this would be great for attendance".If the Marlins can have a winning record at the end of the season, Jennings will look like a genius. I want championships!

It'll be seen as coincidence unless he and the Marlins can prove in the future. One season does not prove greatness or futillity.**=Unless you're the '69 Mets or the 2003 Tigers. pmoehrin
Listening to Jeffrey Loria talk about how much he wants to win is like listening to a third world dictator talk about how much he wants to improve the local economy.
JasonFromMiami
Yoervis Medina ? LOL, sounds like a name in a videogame where the makers did not have the rights to real player names.

teddthebucfan
Here's a stat that was shared with me. For those of you who still think the Pirates, Reds, and Mariners are still contenders, apparently in the 20 seasons of 6 divisional play, teams 8 games or more back at this point in the season have only won their division four times. To put that into perspective, that's four times in 120 chances. 4/120. That's less than 4 percent of the time. Shameless Self Promotion!

To borrow from Crownking I mean fish platter, that hurts. Also a bummer and an annoyance is I can't watch Mariners games on MLB.tv because of the local blackout rules. The only Mariners games I've seen this season are the one I went to and the one I watched in a bar. I know why they do it, but I don't like it. 2001mark
Is it crazy to think the Astros have a legitimate shot at winning the World Series now? Well, the AL is rather meh this season, they should at least aim for the LCS. @2001mark
FiddySicks
I'm at the Dodgers Giants game tonight, and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting ultimate Giants fan Bryan Stow before the game. He looks absolutely great, and he was truly humbled at the idea that I recognized him. So glad to see him happy and so well recovered!
