UGGH, talk of the Heisman in the last few days assists the (now) Heisman Trust and their self-aggrandizing belief of an award which means little but for those 700+ writers who still can day say have some national importance.

NO sports talk is more boring/$hittier than Heisman talk.

The Heisman Award is awarded to the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work best dadgum player on the best dadgum team. If they's gettin' paid, makebelieve it never happened.

Reggie Bush got his Heisman taken away though.

The Army/Navy game is my favorite game of the year. I don't care if both teams were winless. Also, no offense Baltimore, it should always be in Philly.

I'd prefer they rotate to more cities. San Diego, San Antonio or Denver would be great places to play the game since there would be large portions of military and veteran presence. Jacksonville could be an option as well.

2017 is the last year of the current agreements with Philadelphia and Baltimore. A RFP is out for the next contracts. As for TV, CBS has the game through 2018 at aporox. $5 million per year.

Other cities not within driving distance have a huge financial issue in that they must pay for travel and lodging for ALL cadets and midshipmen. It's been a deal breaker for Orlando and Chicago. When in Philly or Baltimore/DC, they're bussed in the AM and back in the evening unless they use their one pass per semester and stay with their family on Saturday night.

To all this above, McCaffery is no doubt a better overall player as his statistics speak for himself. No other skill player has had as good of season than McCaffery had this year, but honestly Henry did more for his team and I hate to say that. He was the most dominant back in the SEC and without him Bama is nowhere near the playoff. In world where the Award went to the best overall player, McCaffery wins. but we all know what the Heisman is and it generally goes to the player who led his team to the National Spotlight/Championship.

I'm not arguing who's going to win it, everyone knows Henry will. I'm saying that fact that Henry will win it is sad.

I agree, but I was just saying the logic behind the reason why he won. Its dumb.

Army did a lot better than I thought they would. Much like the 2012 game though, turnovers killed the Cadets. Navy's DirecTV spoof was kinda funny though.

Shows how much I know though, that I didn't know BYU was looking for a new coach til I heard the announcers mentioning that they were considering Ken Niumatalolo. Good night from the rock I'm living under :ninja:

Mendenhall left for UVa, but BYU has limited choices as their coach MUST be an active member of the LDS Church.

Oh wow they still do that? That really does limit their choices. I actually thought they had lightened up on that.

That leaves their candidate pool at like, just a handful of lower level coordinators, and maybe a few high school coaches in Queen Creek, AZ. That's not exactly promising.
