I bet there were people who complained that Michael Jordan was too good too. I'm glad I wasn't one of those guys.

Hope this link works: https://vine.co/v/eAVAdjYD3mg

Not sure what you call would be posterizing when the guy runs away.

At this point, rooting for LeBron James is like rooting for US Steel

I don't agree at all. While he's gotten some great support from guys like Smith and Dellavadova (or whatever it is), I think the idea of him taking this team all the way with a hobbled Irving and having to adjust to Love's departure is captavating. Can the best player in the world take this team all the way (against a team with a player that finished ahead of him in MVP voting)?

Remember, as good as James is, his legacy is still in question regarding whether anyone even considers putting him up with Kobe, Jordan, and others. We only care about one stat: titles. And he has two that were created by building a "super team". At least one with the small-market Cavs would be enormous. Particularly with the injuries they are battling.

I am rooting for it.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Nah, he is a selfish jerk, ringchasing and (trying to) making it look like he is doing it for his home team

I'm never going to understand how Lebron is a "selfish jerk" because he decided to play somewhere where he thought he had a better shot at winning. And the idea of ANYONE heading to Cleveland to ring chase is downright laughable.

He left right after the heat lost in the finals, seeing the team was getting old. Cavs had several no. 1 picks and bron saw that, then he got rid of wiggins for love, he runs the team. And if he really have a deep desire to put the city before himself, why did he leave in the first place.

So few athletes have ever had the leverage to dictate their professional lives as much as Lebron has. Anyone would jump at that opportunity. Trying to stick terms like selfish on him for changing work places to better his future is a a tad ridiculous, no? And seriously, the dude is three games away from his FIFTH consecutive Finals appearance. With his second team, no less. Seems to be working out pretty well for him.

But yeah, "selfish", "ring chasing", "choker". Let's just keep that dialogue going because basketball.

I don't know if you can say he is ring chasing. When he left Cleveland the first time, the Bulls were coming off deep playoff runs and had a great core of young players (Rose, Nose, Gibson). At the time, the Bulls were a lot deeper than Miami. Miami was basically a big 3 and scrubs (Chalmers was OK). When leaving Miami, I believe at the time, Houston had the best roster with Dwight, Harden, Parsons, and a decent bench with some nice young players. In both cases, I believe Chicago and Houston both had cap space to sign LeBron.

To be honest, I think after year 4 of the LeBron/Melo/Wade/Bosh draft, those guys got together and said they'll give 3 more years to their current teams and then join up. If you remember at the time, there was a lot made that those guys didn't sign the full extensions after their rookie contracts expired.

I honestly think LeBron - or his management team - had this master vision that he would leave Cleveland to go to Miami, and then return 4 years later with a parade and all the pomp and circumstance one could dream of. I don't think they anticipated the hate LeBron would receive for leaving Cleveland and how much his reputation was diminished.

Ring chasing in Cleveland? Nobody does that.

Did he go ring chasing in Miami? Sure. And it was brilliant. Rather than risk getting no rings in Cleveland and trying what Karl Malone did, he did it in his prime. Now the monkey's off his back and he's going to try to win one on his home/original team.

Now that he has his "superteam" titles, he wants to try to get some where he's undeniably the man. Cleveland was not the best place to go to win a title. And if he gets one, it's a compelling story. People wanted to go to LA to play with Kobe and to Chicago to play with MJ. Those guys never had the problem of having to get people to play in Cleveland.

Anybody can join a superteam...he's trying to build, rather than maintain tradition. That's far more impressive. And really? Are Miami fans really upset? They got four trips to the finals and two titles out of LeBron. Out of a free agency signing. They loved it when they gained a player from free agency and they cannot swallow losing him the same way? This cannot happen, but if some group of guys got together in Minnesota (it's funny just to say that) and brought them to four finals with two titles, I'd be quite happy with it.
