I think with RSL you're seeing Salt Lake being embraced more, especially if referencing the Salt Lake Valley and County. But, for I prefer Utah for brevity. My preferences for a nickname would be -- Gulls, Eagles or Fightin' Saints. The Fightnin' Saints is a pipedream/semi-serious joke. But, I think with the history of the Golden Eagles and Gulls (baseball) works. I'd just drop the Golden of Golden Eagles because of Vegas, but my preference would be the Utah Gulls. You could have some fun with that name. Quote "I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific." Partycrasher
a pet name I've always had in my mind, and one I think would work particularly well in this instance, is the (Utah) Railblazers. with Utah being where the first transcontinental railroad was completed, it pretty much writes itself. in particular, a golden spike being driven through the state outline would be a hell of a shoulder patch.
mcj882000
I guess one important question is, has there been any indication that the Jazz are looking to build a new arena? Because I figure no new building will happen without their input, and though I hate repeating myself it really cannot be overstated how suboptimal the soon-to-be-again Delta Center is for NHL hockey. Four words: "Barclays Center, but worse": Like, if we're gonna move the Coyotes here full-time? Just put them back in downtown Phoenix at Talking Stick/Footprint/whatever it's called now instead, because that'd still be better than this; at least the Suns' arena has hockey-ready seating in a endzone! Mind you, I type what I type next while knowing none of the specific language between Fanatics and the NHL regarding apparel, supply and/or provision, but that may not necessarily have to be the case. It really depends on the league and the team, but if the NFL and MLB prove any indication, the team could bring in an independent designer/firm to develop/work in tandem with Fanatics on it. Reference the Minnesota Twins; that identity was mostly crafted by Matthew Wolff; I don't know how much Nike had to do with the general look and feel. And on the topic of Quebec City, I did some cursory research on why Nordiques 1.0 ended up leaving the province in the first place and...with all of what happened having, well, happened, how viable a relocation market/option is QC really? Granted, the currency issue may not be as much of a factor these days (since the US dollar ain't even wor—you know what, lets not even go there right now ), but wasn't one of the biggest issues the Nordiques dealt with was how heavily francophone QC is and the whole language barrier thing? Would any that still be an issue in present day? (I genuinely don't know; that's why I ask.) Would any that still be an issue in present day? (I genuinely don't know; that's why I ask.) The team left for a variety of reasons in 1995. The need for a new arena lined up with a Quebec provincial government that couldn't help foot the bill after a failed independence referendum. That plus Bettman actively looking to offload the smaller market Canadian teams to American markets and... well... you get what you get. The potential Quebec ownership group is headed by a media tycoon, the arena is NHL-ready (more then you can say for Arizona... or even SLC), and Quebec separatism is dead if the last few Quebec provincial elections are any indication. As for the language issue...yes QC is almost an exclusively French locale but if you scroll up in the thread you'll find evidence that the "no one wants to play there" stuff was overblown. European stars liked it just fine and English Canadian talent that were hesitant about playing there found that the fans embraced them. The idea that Quebec City isn't a viable market because of the French language is sad enough given that Coyotes defenders try to portray the team's existence as a win for diversity, but on top of that? It's an overblown problem anyway only because Eric Lindros was a momma's boy. 4 Quote PotD 26/2/12 1/7/15 2020 BASS Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Regular Season Champion 2021 BASS NFL Pick'em Regular Season Champion

The league is so desperate to keep the Coyotes in Arizona that now they've turned the Coyotes social media into meme accounts about having the best fans in the league and staying put where they are. They now refer to themseves as the #Pack. They've tried everything for 30 years. Let's see if this works. If they are going to continue taking pages from the Vegas Golden Knight's playbook, why don't they build a mini desert setting somewhere in Mullett Arena, to have a cool visual for TV. Or hire Michael Buffer to hype the crowd. Maybe that will help them fill 5000 seats.
