Kris Bryant becam the first player in NCAA/MLB history to win Golden Spikes Award (effectively, College Player of the Year), Minor League Player of the Year, MLB Rookie of the Year and MLB MVP in four consecutive game seasons.

So, Bryant went #2 in that draft, and the dude who went above him was Stanford pitcher Mark Appel. I wondered what happened to him so I just looked it up. Apparently, he just got called up to the bigs for the first time at age 30 just yesterday!

last night, Chandler Redmond of the AA Springfield Cardinals became the second player in the history of professional baseball to hit for a home run cycle (solo, 2-run, 3-run, and grand slam in one game). the only other documented HR cycle on record was by Tyrone Hornes of the 1998 Arkansas Travelers.

who were also a AA affiliate of the Cardinals.

The closest to a home run cycle in the bigs were Alex Rodriguez in 2005

And Albert Pujols in the 2011 World Series

only three of the surviving North American pro sports franchises that were active at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II - the Cleveland Indians/Guardians, Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, and Rochester/Cincinnati/Kansas City-Omaha/Kansas City/Sacramento Royals/Kings - failed to win a single championship during her entire reign. all three, of course, came agonizingly close - the Indians lost two World Series Game 7s in extra innings (and blew a 3-1 lead in the 2007 ALCS), the Cardinals held a lead in Super Bowl XLIII with less than a minute left, and the Kings most likely would've won the 2002 Finals in a just world.
