Pabig
Awful branding. Why do you use a knight theme? Who thinks about knights when they hear Las Vegas? I think about bright lights, money, Casinos and stuff like that. That could have been an amazing identity if they used sth like Las Vegas Aces or Las Vegas High Rollers or Las Vegas Roulette (The last one is kinda cheesy but it would work). Now they wasted all those opportunities.

The alternate mark isn't executed as well as I would have liked, but it's fine conceptually. The only thing I take issue with is using "Vegas" instead of "Las Vegas." Bush league move there. It would work great as the emblem for a pickup truck company. I think for hats they should just use the helmet. The full logo doesn't look right on a hat. The full logo kinda sucks. The helmet by itself is a stronger logo, and it shouldn't have to rely on the shield. The V would show up on any background. edit...dammit. Look at a logo enough times and you see things you can't unsee. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

The full name should be the Las Vegas Golden Knights, but while the Lakers aren't officially the LA Lakers, the Clippers are officially the LA Clippers. In a interview with Sportsnet, George McPhee also said dropping Las was a tribute to the local folk.

Actually, the original Ducks Edge sweaters retained the metallic gold stripes. The third-now-home jersey later introduced flat gold striping. I guess it's possible that the Knights could use metallic stripes. I'd be all for it. PotD: 24/08/2017

Ignorance to lack of information about the relationship to Las Vegas and the NHL (or any major sports league) and their agreement to not use any reference to gaming in team names or designs. Posting to disagree with their choice is one thing but atleast bring something worth while to the table. The short minded idea of "The teams from Vegas, they should use something about gambling" derp derp idea is frustrating and annoying. While I like the name Aces, but Roulette? Do you even understand table games? Should they name them Las Vegas Mississippi Stud? Las Vegas Mini-Bac? Just stop with the ignorant posts already. It brings nothing to the discussion for anything constructive moving forward. Bleeding Blue since 1986

habsfan1
So a black, gold, & graphite primary logo with white numbers that have red & gold trims. Interesting. Looks like there's going to be more red on that jersey than just the little flashy sword secondary. And that's in spite of the primary being devoid of red. I don't know how they're going to make everything come together...

The point being made here is that any Los Angeles team can be called "L.A. (whatevers)" even if the official name has the words "Los Angeles" in it, as was the practice with the Galaxy and the Clippers before they changed their names. So there was no real point in making that change. That change succeeds only in making the official names less dignified. Likewise, this new team could have had "Las Vegas" in its official name, and anyone who wanted to call it "Vegas Golden Knights" or even "Vegas Knights" would still have been able to do so.
