🤔

Again, I expected the province of Quebec would get a team for 2020 to round out the CPL to 8.

I did not expect 2. I'm wondering if this means they'll aim for 3 teams added for 2020 (I hope not)?

Apparently FloFC's stream of the DCU/New England match cut out late in the second half. This apology was posted earlier on social media.

Has this happened with any Cincinnati games?

...is this not the "SuperLiga" that we already tried and quickly gave up on?

Minus the MLS glamour squads. The way they picked teams for that was like an episode of "Who's Line is It Anyways?"

Vegas is already an unsustainable wasteland for everything else. Might as well go for the same status in pro sports!

Vegas is trying to become a full professional sports town damn near overnight. The city itself is built in the middle of the Mojave desert and it’s economy is fueled by gambling and debauchery. None of this is sustainable long term.

I have my “negative” moments here, no doubt. But as someone who grew up in that state and saw how poorly funded EVERYTHING is already (They have, like, no money), this is more of me being a “realist”. The speed in which the city is growing and population is ballooning seems not just like a poor idea, but downright insane. I have a VERY good feeling that when it’s all said and done, this isn’t going to end well. Not for sports fans or residents.

The NHL started a domino affect when they announced the Vegas Golden Knights because soon after they came in, The Raiders announced that they were moving there.  MLB commissioner Rob Manfred mentioned Las Vegas as a possible expansion team and now this tweet about how Las Vegas is aiming for MLS.  Heck, the NBA has a summer league based in Las Vegas, despite not wanting an actual team in Las Vegas.

If you have an Athletic sub, good article about the whole Flo nonsense: https://theathletic.com/1000851/2019/05/29/

Though my big takeaway is that it's alarming that there are even rumors about MLS switching all teams to this company given what we've seen so far. Hard to square that with talk of growing the game, MLS being truly major-league, etc. Just cut a deal with ESPN+ leaguewide and call it a day.

Went to go see Forge FC again last night. Looked very empty. Let's hope that won't continue once the weather starts to get better. That aside; they announced that they will have a 3rd jersey for the June 15th home game which will be "black and gold night". I guess at some point they had to match the rest of the teams in Hamilton.

There's about a dozen pics on the Forge site but I just posted the full uniform pic because, well, there's not much to see. All black with a little gold trim.

So you've taken the job as GM and head coach but you're not sure you'll be coaching on Saturday? Bruce Arena, everybody!!

From ESPN:

http://www.espn.com/soccer/club/new-england-revolution/189/blog/post/3863865/new-england-is-playing-catch-up-after-being-left-behind-by-the-growth-of-mls

"Tuesday was the most recent demarcation line for the New England Revolution. That day's practice session was Bruce Arena's first since being named sporting director and manager on May 13, although when he'll coach in an actual game is still to be determined.

"I'm about 1 percent of the way there in this project," Arena told reporters on Tuesday. "It's a lot to learn, a lot of things to evaluate. I've patiently tried to get a better feel for things here. I'm getting there, but it's going to take some time.

"Will I be on the field [on Sunday against the LA Galaxy]? I don't know yet. If I think I'm going to be a distraction to the team, I won't do it."

WTF!?!?!?!?!?

Follow  on:

"Yet Arena's hiring, at least in the short term, was intended to be just that: a massive distraction, be it from a team that has struggled on the field all the way through an organization that hasn't kept pace with the rest of MLS.

The task Arena is undertaking is enormous. Sure, the Revs recorded a 1-0-2 record under interim manager Mike Lapper, but they're still stuck in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, four points out of the seventh and final playoff spot. Is a playoff spot still achievable? Thanks to a postseason format that is even more forgiving this year, of course it is, but it will require more than just a new coach bounce".

....in your opinion, bruh.

People are allowed to enjoy gambling, drinking, and legal weed if they want to.  Sorry.

Who said anything about that?   You can get those things all over now.

The Vegas concerns are largely about infrastructure spending and water resources.

Yes. I’m one of those people. But you know what else people also enjoy? Having an abundance of clean water.
