2021 NFL Season - Adults Arguing About Matt Stafford

Recommended Posts

LOL Pittsburgh gets the benefit of yet another potentially game-changing bad call negating a red zone turnover.  Personal foul calls absolutely need to be reviewable, even if just the "quick" upstairs review.

Well the review gets the final play of the Pittsburgh game right (Tennessee being short), but prior to that, the most rigged chain measurement I've ever seen took place.  They didn't even stretch the chain to the ball - they moved it away from the ball, so you couldn't tell if the ball touched or not (and I sure as f looked on TV like it would have touched.)  At the end of the day it shouldn't have even been a measurement because it was a bad spot, but the fact that they did measure and didn't even do it properly just shows how tilted some of these games are.  So Pittsburgh gets the benefit of a bogus roughing the passer that helps them retain possession, and then would have gotten the benefit of a bogus measurement of a (albeit incorrect) spot that certainly looked like it was a first down had the actually stretched the chain to where the ball was rather than some arbitrary spot a yard away from it.

LOLs and now phantom calls are going in favor of the Packers.   WTF was with that PI call?  It wasn't even holding, let alone PI.  Complete joke.

I'll refer back to my comments re: the Packers/Bears game.

The Packers get calls.

It's absurd.  I figured with as much as the NFL is in bed with gambling sites, they'd have to be a little more on the level... but instead the opposite has occurred.

I think John Harbaugh might have a bone to pick with Justin Tucker. Another week, another 2-pt. conversion gamble, another loss for Baltimore.

Yes John, OT is a crapshoot. You're not guaranteed to win, let alone touch the football. But there comes a time when you need to just take the easy point and play for overtime. You're doing nothing but shooting yourself in the foot.

It’s because coaches have become too reliant on analytics that says 2 point conversions are the better option, even when anyone with any form of common sense could tell you the analytics are wrong.

I thought the first time they did it it was the right call, but I'm not sure about this time.  I'm certain that even if going for two was right, the actual play call was absurd.  The play caller should be relieved of his duties before he even gets out of the shower.

The real problem with the 2PC attempt - although this isn't intrinsically a "2PC" issue - is that they scored too early. Even if they convert it, is anybody betting against Rodgers getting into field goal range with 42 seconds and a timeout to work with? He did it in even less time against the Niners earlier this season. I understand taking the chance to score the touchdown when you see the endzone open in front of you, I really do, and obviously there's no guarantee you'll score on a later down anyway. Regardless, once you've scored in that situation, I too would rather kick the extra point and see what happens from there.

I had less of an issue doing it against Pittsburgh two weeks ago because that really was an "all or nothing" play for both teams there. Barring a kickoff return, the Steelers were screwed if the Ravens convert the 2PC. Green Bay...probably still wins.

I don't know if the Bucs are just allergic to SNF or the Saints know every detail about Tampa. Two straight sweeps for New Orleans... holy hell.

Being down our top 4 receivers and top running back - losing three of those players during the game - definitely doesn't help. This was like the Black Knight trying to defeat King Arthur after King Arthur had already hacked off both arms and one of his legs.

For as much fun as this last year and a half has been, there’s something deep down in me that still :censored:ing HATES watching the Bucs play. Tonight felt like the majority of my life as a Bucs fan. I don’t get to watch them more than, like, twice a season, and when I do, this is usually the outcome. This game doesn’t even crack my top ten worst games. Honestly, it’s not even close.

Saints are such a bipolar team. One week the look like legit playoff contenders, the next they look like they should be competing for the #1 draft  pick.  Of course the Bucs losing nearly their entire offense didn't help at all.

Saints swept the Bucs last year too, but Brady did beat them when it mattered. This year they'll still end up winning the division regardless.

Packers have pretty locked up the #1 seed at this rate I would say. AFC is still a cluster:censored: though. It's actually becoming even less clear the closer to the end it gets. LOL

I have no idea who will win the AFC. Green Bay is snakebit, so I fully expect LA or Dallas to win the NFC.

This is a weird season.
