Ultimately, yes. Can’t disagree with that one at all. It still wouldn’t surprise me to see the CFP committee go with a second SEC team instead. It would be a mistake, but just watch them double down and go Bama because this sport is broken.

I still think TCU gets in even though they lost today. I just don't see a two-loss team getting in over a team who's only loss was in the conference championship.

Utah and Kansas State deserve it more than either one of them. Either these conference championship games mean something or they don't. It can't be both. The CFB Playoff Committee puts a premium on conference championship games until it doesn't and here we are...again.

It will make it less concerning over which teams are 3-6, but it really won't add any teams that are worth being called the best team of the year. If the format is more like the basketball tournament, ok.

After seeing USC get :censored: stomped by a physical brand of football, I cannot wait for them to face off against highly physical teams in below freezing temps. I can't wait to see 260 lbs farm boy TE who's bench is measured in tractor tires break 5 tackles as Lincoln Riley looks on in bewilderment. The LA schools have no place in the BIG and I hope they fail for leaving the PAC to die

Assuming Michigan and Clemson win, the bracket would probably look something like this:

 

#12 Tulane @ #5 Ohio State

- Winner plays #4 Utah*

#11 Penn State @ #6 TCU

- Winner plays #3 Clemson*

#10 Kansas State @ #7 Alabama

- Winner plays #2 Michigan

#9 Tennessee @ #8 USC

- Winner plays #1 Georgia

 

*Byes can only go to conference champions, so Utah and Clemson jump up

What it basically does is move the "who's in, who's out, who got screwed" argument down to teams 10 thru 12. Someone will still get screwed, but it won't be as big a deal because no one cares if teams like Washington or  Oklahoma State don't get in.

I ain't gon' front--I was kinda hoping he'd stay on at JSU, given that he's done so much not just for JSU, but Jackson, Mississippi, and HBCUs in general. However, I can't fault the man for climbing up that career ladder, and I think the fact that no one, not even the Betazoids, saw Prime and Colorado in the same book let alone the same sentence adds a whole 'nother level of intrigue to this.

 

Plus...there's a lot of nice scenery up there in Colorado, and I'm sure they'll give him a completely clean slate to work with--which may also have aided in Prime's decision (he's long said he's looking for ways to elevate some of his staff; this may be one way to do it.)

What I'm worried about is that all the unprecedented attention he gave to HBCUs is going to go away now and they'll fade back into obscurity in the public eye, with no one knowing when (or if) they'll ever reach that attention again.

 

I had even thought he was gonna make JSU the first HBCU in FBS...

I share that concern. Prime was definitely building something there. Plus, I highly doubt we see anyone with Prime's personality and charisma, shoot, ever, let alone at the HBCU level. That said, even with all that, Prime's just one man. The question now becomes: who's gonna be next to step it up??

 

And just because I just thought of it, Prime already had his entry slogan:

 

"Who is PAC...if he ain't PAC???"
