Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Highly confident they wouldn't leak it on an acid wash tee in their online team shop.  Especially for a tee design built on the 2023 season.

Also, this has a "concert tee" feel to it, both in the blank garment and the design.  I'm sure there was some thought in the font selection, but highly doubt this is an official wordmark.

The first letter in HOUSTON is the same "H" that was leaked previously. I don't think that's coincidence. A worn-out black shirt with a navy/red/white logo is throwing me off to where I don't want to pass judgement just yet. But my initial reaction is that it does not look good.

that Texans shirt is 70 DOLLARS btw 😡 this is getting ridiculous for a piece of cotton.

For a shirt with the schedule on the back? I didnt think those sold well when they were $15 plaint white tees, let alone some "brand name" high end shirt

Who happens to be from Houston. OMG its all coming together! American Bad Ass Texans are on the way!

About 10 years ago, the Undertaker came in to my place of work. He’s a massive human, so he naturally stands out in a crowd. But he had a buzz cut, and people didn’t initially recognize him without his hair.

Some of my co-workers grew up idolizing him and were naturally hyped when they realized who it was. My buddy was pacing in the back, and I tried to get him to go say hey to him. He said, “what am I supposed to say? Hello ‘Mr. Taker,’ big fan?” 😆

I talked to him as he was checking out, and told him the guys in the back are freaking out you’re here. They are die-hard fans. He just laughed and said, “oh, another failed disguise.”

He came across as a genuine and humble dude.

Yeah, the logo looks so out of place. They could’ve at least given it a vintage/worn treatment for the shirt.

But I’m afraid even without the context of the worn-out shirt, the logo would still look odd next to that font. They might need to tweak the logo a bit if they want to actually pull off the look they are going for.

'Taker is a big fan of Nine Line Apparel.  He'd worn their shirts for awhile and the owner connected with him and offered him a ton more; Taker wouldn't accept.  They're doing some collaborations now but when offered free gear, he wouldn't take them and just wanted to support the company.  Says a lot.  He also did some semi-private charity fundraising stuff with them.  From all accounts, he's about as good as they come.

I actually don't hate the wordmark, I just have a hard time believing A.) they'd leak it a year early and B.) they'd go with something so stylized.  Stuff like this ages quickly & poorly.

The back of the shirt gives me concert tour shirt vibes LOL

But the breast pocket logo on the front looks like the word mark was designed to fit the logo. The way Texans arches over the logo. Also, I like the jagged negative spaces fitting more seamlessly between Houston and Texans. Could the breast pocket logo be the new wordmark?

From what I can gather these products are from Wild Collective.  They seem to be a higher end fashion and lifestyle brand.  Their retail pricing is not the norm.

Someone posted this swap in reply to the Cardinal's "fashion" tweet, and it makes things feel so much better:

Of course, it would be better yet if the socks were swapped, too.

I worked on what I think the Texans could look color wise, details obviously would be different. But I think it shows you can  add the light blue without looking like the Titans.

The collar horns look great on the navy jersey but on the others they don’t look like horns.

…also, I agree. These don’t really look like the Titans. They’re a lot better. :)

I don't really see the Texans using both blues on the same jersey. I think they just keep the normal jerseys and then throw in a powder blue alternate with some red to "test" the waters (despite the fact that fans have been adamant about wanting that color scheme forever). Then they can make a matching white set + red alt, or whatever it may be. If they do commit to light blue, then I think that navy is ditched (or at least kept separate from anything light blue related). This would further separate them from the Titans, who use all three colors (albeit clumsily).

Not really sure how the fan survey plays into whatever rebrand may be coming. It's not impossible that they keep both navy and light blue, but I don't think they would keep both if they want a retro-inspired set. I could see navy+light blue on an ultra modern jersey though, or possibly black in place of navy, but that just wouldn't work on a retro looking uniform IMO.

I think that the rebrand will be largely dependent on two things:

-The Titans

-Ownership's commitment to the fan survey

I know what the Texans should do

You know what...I wouldn't hate that. And at any rate it's a far more interesting use of an otherwise dull colorway.

(I still say they should change their colorway altogether—but NOT to light blue, please let that ship stay sailed—but I might as well be ice-skating uphill talking like that...)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁
