I do wish there was some orange in the jersey, since they do use orange on the road. But the worst part is the hat. That sucks. I feel like the neatest part of the City Connect was some cool new logos that would be worn on the hats, like the Rays, Rangers, or Cubs. But just straight up “DETROIT” on a hat is awful. Literally anything else that was somewhat unique would make this set better. Not only is it one of the worst on field hats ever, it immediately follows one of the best hats ever (SkyRay) released by Nike. I think that was maybe true 10-20 years ago but we're at a point right now where colors are in, bright ones too (think Barbie, Y2K aesthetic), and the throwback nostalgia cycle is pointing to a pre-navy blue era. There is a certain #darkmode aesthetic that's always a possibility for these looks and is more obviously different than the usual baseball whites or light grays. You are probably correct. I'm thankful the Pistons have at least given up on the whole "Motor City" shtick, as bad as their alts still remain. Sad to see the Tigers have taken over the flame.
