I think the Pittsburgh Maulers should rebrand to the "Canton Maulers" or the "Ohio Maulers", since they play/would be playing all of their home games in Canton, OH anyway. Or even better, they could revive the old "Canton Bulldogs" name.

The National Football League holds the trademark for Canton Bulldogs through its properties division.

It was pretty clear: play entirely in hubs in year one, then add more cities in year two, and continue to extend yourself gradually.

Minor correction  that serves your point; they played in ONE hub (Birmingham) in year one, and expanded into 4 hubs in year two.

People are delusional if they think this will last past 2025 at best. Sorry if you feel insulted but don't be naive.

So you clearly came into a thread, on a subject you don't even pay attention to, just to satisfy your narcissistic desire to feel all high and mighty, yet you're calling us delusional and naïve?

Why don't we call it the NAFL (North American Football League)?

That was actually the name of a semipro league a couple of my high school teammates (and a coach) played in during the early 2000's. Not sure if it is still operating.

I’ve seen a lot of debate over the current health of both leagues or which one initiated merger talks, but I haven’t seen a single post saying — or even implying — the merged league will be successful.

This post was made just so you can come back if this league fails and quote yourself saying “I told you so” to a fact nobody was arguing.

This post is like saying, “You’re delusional if you think Starbucks will stop selling pumpkin spice lattes” or “you’re delusional if you think this country will outlaw cheeseburgers.”

I'd borrow from the Pat McAfee playbook and name the league PAFL: Professional American Football League.

So last NFL Season, the NFL prevented McAfee from showing NFL highlights despite the fact he had a deal with NFL Films to show said highlights.  They created the name PAFL to use.  They used logos from this site and renamed the teams:

Football Doodles (corndoggydrawings.com)

This lasted for like a week or two until NFL Films called the NFL to fix it.  Then it was back to showing NFL Highlights on his show, which they have also been showing this season.

Sure. Because the hub model totally works.

Move the Gamblers to Austin name them the Austin Gamblers And keep the Roughnecks in Houston

Unless UT lets them use their stadium, which is highly unlikely, Austin should be skipped over. The next closest stadium that makes sense is Texas State at San Marcos. May as well put them in San Antonio by then, but the Brahmas will already be in place unless they do soemthing crazy. We all know only one Houston team survives and it'll probably be the Gamblers.

Well, there's Q2, but there's no need with the Brahmas in San Antonio.
