Fred T. Jane
...and here I thought this thread was originally about someone predicting that the Buzzsaw would beat the Packers on Sunday.Of course, since I was mistaken, this series begs the question of "If a team won the World Series and no one cared enough to watch any of it take place, did they really win it?" [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. sacker12
I remember telling someone that you don't have to be the best team all year to win the World Series, but rather the hottest team in baseball for a month.Detroit threw away many chances to win that series, literally. Swiss
Congratulations to:- The Cards for their 2006 World Series championship. They played with attitude. Never let their low percentage in regular season darken their play in the playoffs.- The Tigers for their astounding and pleasant 2006 season and AL pennant. Who would think that this franchise could play the 2006 Series after three previous lame years?- Bud Selig for opening once more his humorous vein. It's Eckstein, you stupid! Had you even considered a job inside the National Lampoon, huh?Ah.Did anyone noticed that this Series are the most errorful ever in baseball history? Sproullie03
Is it just me or could there have been a case to make Sean Casey MVP all the guy did was hit over .500 and at i think carried the tigers when for the most part the rest of the team couldnt hit a beachball. NJTank
Its very hard to give a player on a losing team a MVP in a World Series. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

No you can't make the case. It's Most valuable Player, you aren't that valuable if you don't win.
-kj
I actually thought that Molina would be a deserving MVP the way he hit during the series.Oh, and all of you can suck it. Really. No you can't make the case. It's Most valuable Player, you aren't that valuable if you don't win.Exactly, so then why do players on teams who don't make the playoffs, get voted the Most Valuable Player. Apparently, if your team can miss the playoffs with you, they can miss the playoffs without you. The award is not best player, it's Most Valuable Player, so IMO, Casey was not the Most VALUABLE Player.

Roger Clemente
Thats going to the 3rd World. What use does the third world have for car stickers? After finally being able to view footage of the final out on MLB.com, the organ cue they played the second the final out was recorded made it sound as if the absolute worst thing ever had happened. Also, the players didn't form and instant mod, they just sort of hugged each other and then decided, "what the hell, let's pile up." But the crowd was enjoying it... I assume. My hat's off to the Cardinals. Now, go buy that hat, Yale.--Roger "Time?" Clemente. Follow me on Twitter if you care: @Animal_Clans.My opinion may or may not be the same as yours. SEMOSTLfan
Everyone can say what they want about this series being boring, and yes im sure it probably was if you had no rooting interest but for the record this may be one of the best days of my life. I'm 20 years old and have grown up a die hard Cardinals fan watching never ending footage of past teams winning the series yet never getting to witness a championship for myself. Congrats to the Tigers on a great season, they will be back real soon there's no question about that. That said I'm going to go enjoy this victory and prepare for the parade at 2:00pm on Sunday!!Thank You Redbirds for an incredible post season. KDubK414
I decided to delete my post. I apologize for my behavior in this space that was previously occupied. I was quite after the game and needed to vent. I took it out on the wrong people and they and you all didn't deserve it. To Card's fans, I say congrats on your team winning. I'm not happy bout it, but there's nothing I can do about it. Calm and cool this time.
