CC97 161 Posted May 20, 2007 The longest Cup Final drought belongs solely to the Toronto Maple Leafs, if I'm not mistaken.Chicago "Black Hawks" - 46 year drought, last won in 1961.Toronto comes in second at 40 years. Before 1994, the New York Rangers had a 54 year drought on their hands and Detroit, before 1997, had themselves a 42 year drought. C'mon Matt... we're talkin' Cup Final Appearance drought here

maz 170 Posted May 20, 2007 Well, at least Pittsburgh didnt lose to some nobody team that would dive out second round... If ottawa wins the cup we'll know we didnt lose in vain, we lost to a legit team that just will not be denied this year.
Roger Clemente 196 Posted May 20, 2007 For the third time in four seasons, Martin Gerber is a backup in the Stanley Cup Finals. Lucky bastard.--Roger "Time?" Clemente.
gojetsgo 5 Posted May 20, 2007 For the third time in four seasons, Martin Gerber is a backup in the Stanley Cup Finals. Lucky bastard.--Roger "Time?" Clemente.I wonder if has happened before that a backup goalie wins back to back cups with two different teams. If Ottawa wins, Gerber would probably be the first.
Shane Does Art 4 Posted May 20, 2007 well what anout teams who won back to back cups they probably had the same guy on the bench..I'm in the minority, but I say keep Gerber he gets to the final then gets traded, or signed and then the team who gets rid of him misses the playoffs the next year....
