dennisbergan
An alternate jersey makes sense because you can actually sell that in stores, but alternate pants of a different color are just dumb. They aren't "alternate" pants. They are pants, that are a part of the uniform set.
dennisbergan
I really just don't think they have a place for the red pants in their scheme. There is for sure with their road jerseys. The road jerseys have red numbers. They will look very good with the red pants.
FiddySicks
See...you're all looking at this wrong.Since the Texans use the same Red as the AZ Diamondbacks, it can actually be called PURPLE.So, the Texans were actually dressed in ALL PURPLE.(right, BallWonk?)First all-Purple monochrome since the Vikings in the '60s. [/sarcasm]Wait a second here. I may be completely missing the sarcasm here, but do the Texans really wear the same brickish (I know its not technically brick red, but its damn close) red that the Diamondbacks do? It looks waaaaaaay brighter than that to me. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) The blue road pants are their best look and it wouldn't hurt to break out the whites and reds for a road game or two.
Blue Falcon
How do you figure the Bears don't look identifiable from a distance? They use one of the most unique number fonts, not to mention one of if not THE most traditional and recognizable uniforms in the league. And the Jaguars? They're basically the only team that wears teal, and the black helmet distinguishes them from Miami. For me it's sometimes tough to tell the Bears from the Texans from a distance, because I don't look for the number font at all. I like to be able to identify a team from the get-go...which is why I don't like all-white unis either. The Jags look fine when they wear the teal jersey, but when it's all-white they look like the Broncos or Ravens or Falcons from a distance. Sport
An alternate jersey makes sense because you can actually sell that in stores, but alternate pants of a different color are just dumb. They aren't "alternate" pants. They are pants, that are a part of the uniform set.which is the problem to begin with. They don't need three pairs of pants, and certainly not a pair of red pants when the white and blue pants look great while the red pants ruin any jersey they are paired with. I get the feeling that my bengals will soon introduce a pair of orange pants.

cajunaggie08
Not that need to do this, but I'll do it anyway. Here's a SnagIt capture from the official Texans' uniform style guide sheet. This was taken from the logo/uniform set StuffIt file I received on 10/25/2007:There's also a new Texans' secondary logo in there that I hadn't seen until I received this new set. Don't know when/if it'll be released (or if it has already). There's also a new 49ers secondary logo too!If the next secondary logo is what I think it is, is it a state of texas with the letters H and T on each side of it? CS85
I think it's okay, but the navy socks must be used with this set. Red socks, red pants, red jersey = no. Sodboy13
I think it's okay, but the navy socks must be used with this set. Red socks, red pants, red jersey = no.That's exactly my problem with this set, and so many other monochromes. It's not the jerseys and the pants; it's the socks. The Texans have one of the best overall packages in the NFL these days, so good that even this all-Battle Red combo would have worked - if they had worn the navy socks. Red jerseys and pants offset with navy helmets and socks makes for a unique, but balanced look. But someone out there - the majority of NFL players making on-field fashion decisions, apparently - thinks that having socks matching the pants color is a good look. And so we see it on far too many teams these days, whether they're part of a monochrome set or not. And it immediately downgrades a lot of looks in football. I saw it pop up at the begining of the season on random merchandise. Then at the game last night, they were using that logo on the tv feed that was being shown on the tvs above the concession stands. I think its ok. It almost looks like a some counterfeit logo for some reason.
winghaz
I didn't think I'd like that all-red look, but the more I view it, the more it grows on me. Maybe like a fungus, but it's growing on me.

swisherHOU
I really don't see them wearing the red pants at any point other than Battle Red day. We don't have much tradition, but Battle Red is something the fans and players get pumped for (if you saw the game, you noticed the owner and Bush Sr. wearing goofy looking red suits, plus EVERYTHING was red at the stadium). And we usually win in them. I think they'll only wear them once a year and only with the red jersey...at least I hope.I was at the game and it just looked weird all night, so even though I love my Texans and think they have the best uniforms in the league, I have to admit this looked pretty ugly. They wear the Battle Reds again in two weeks against the Jaguars...I expect them to come out with white pants.
