Swiss
I did like this game. Phillies won but the Rays showed their spirit. I think that next game we'll see probably a Tampa Bay reaction and a tied Series at 1.The HP umpire did a terrible work. Sometimes he guessed right about the strike zone, sometimes not especially the vertical lines of that zone... hope tonight the next HP ump will do better the job. This man, Caple, should go away and start selling lottery bills. BigEd76
Aw, why wasn't Matt Stairs the DH? Eh, I guess it was because a lefty in Kazmir started.yup. He'll probably be the DH tonight with Dobbs starting at 3B.

That's why predicting a sweep is the dumbest thing he could've done. At least give them two games for their best pitcher.

He'll probably be the DH tonight with Dobbs starting at 3B.I certainly understand why they'd do that, but I kind of thought that Dobbs would be the DH with Feliz staying at 3B for his defense. I wasn't anticipating seeing Stairs until one of the games in Philadelphia turned into a slugfest that depleted each bullpen. FiddySicks
If I was heads at MLB I would be flat out disgusted with the officiating so far, this has been absolutely terrible. rams80
MVP! MVP! EDIT: 1-26 for Philly with RISP. That's...some level beyond horrible. More terrible umpiring...Oh, it's Kerwin Danley... that explains it.edit: and now Rollins is out.

Now that it seems that Tampa Bay will win Game 2, I still keep minding about a 6 games World Series so the next games there at Philly will be crucial for both franchises. gingerbreadmann
OK I tried to refrain but this is such bulls**t. Seriously, worse than the NBA playoff officials. Far worse. It's not even as bad as it could be cause it's on both sides but it disappoints me so much. (though tonight the Phillies have certainly been on the short side of this)
rams80
Well, Philly was going to get a RBI sooner or later. See Red
OK I tried to refrain but this is such bulls**t. Seriously, worse than the NBA playoff officials. Far worse.Tell me about it. It's not that hard to call a strike zone, especially when the ball his hitting a players uniform as it goes past the plate. What the hell is Danley looking at if he didn't see that ball catch uniform?

TFoA
Another good game in this WS. I'm actually getting into this series. Just some great baseball played by both sides.Too bad the umpiring has been awful thus far.

Cujo
Seriously, David Price has got to be the most overrated rookie/phenom I havee seen in quite a while. It was a 4-0 Rays runaway when he entered in the 8th inning, but got the final out with the game-tying run at the dish -- yet they're calling his performance tonight a great outing worthy of being a "save"?... Am I missing somthing here??

Am I missing somthing here?? He's got great stuff, but he's also catching a ton of breaks from the umpires. If Jimmy Rollins gets first base there it's a whole different ballgame... TFoA
Price has definitely been erratic...but it's a rookie pitching in the World Series and not giving up at least a boatload of runs. He's decent, but not great.
