I've been of the thought that the AL is FAR superior to the NL, and it has shown in the World Series in the past few years. I think that domination will only continue. I really feel the ALCS was the real World Series. I'm not sure if its gonna be an all out sweep, but Tampa in 5 wouldn't surprise me. BBTV
Manuel says Howard will not be a DHAgainst Kazmir it'll likely be Chris Coste, then it'll be Greg Dobbs against the righties...This is most likely correct. I thought they'd maybe use the Babe as DH and stick Bruntlett in left, but then I realized how bad Bruntlett has been hitting lately. Any gain in defense is probably not worth that. For the record, I think the DH sucks. It's so boring watching a game where there's no strategy in managing your pitchers and batting order simultaneously. It also sucks that the teams in the WS have to totally rethink the way they compose their lineup to adapt for the other league's rules. Either both use the DH, or get rid of it. My vote is to get rid of it, but I think the MLBPA would have something to say about that. In 2001 and 2003, the favorites were the Yankees and their occasional rivals beat them. And Boston won twice. That's why the distribution is almost even. And some NLCS were as so exciting as the ALCS... remember 2003 and Bartman... 2004 between the Cards and Astros... 2006, woooooooow, Cards' Rolen won it all with a 2-run HR against the Mets in the last inning of the last game. In reality, ESPN's panel has a Tampa Bay sweep across the board.
RyanB06
Or maybe Gammo knows what he's talking about, Bostonian or no.Anyhow, I take the Phils in six. You never root for the team that beats you. I will concede, though, that everything else, is far below the Mendoza Line.Oh, and Rays in 7.However, given the even matchup of the teams and past history....this series will likely be over in 4 with only Game 3 being competitive. Sport
In a way I'm a little disappointed the Red Sox didn't make the world series. It would've been fun to see JD Drew deal with all of the Philadelphia fans. Or are Philly fans over that by now?

It would've been fun to see JD Drew deal with all of the Philadelphia fans. Or are Philly fans over that by now?Well Chris Chelios still gets jeered relentlessly because of a cheap shot he put on Brian Propp back in the '89 playoffs. That was 19 years ago. The JD Drew thing feels like it happened yesterday compared to that. TFoA
Interesting stat: The Phillies, once they play Tampa Bay, will have played all 5 AL East teams in the World Series. Here are the results:1915: L to Boston Red Sox, 4-11950: L to New York Yankees, 4-01983: L to Baltimore Orioles, 4-11993: L to Toronto Blue Jays, 4-2So yeah, Rays in 7.
