In 2005, Utah became the first school to produce #1 overall draft picks in both the NFL Draft and NBA Draft for the same year. Alex Smith was picked first overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2005 NFL Draft, and Andrew Bogut was picked first overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2005 NBA Draft.

Only one Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB has ever been a league All-Pro. That QB was...Trent Dilfer.

Not exactly strange, but often forgotten...Emmitt Smith is NOT the all-time leading rusher in Florida Gators history. That distinction belongs to...Errict Rhett.

Speaking of Emmitt...Emmitt was a Gator in college, wearing orange and blue. Emmitt was also a Gator in high school, wearing...orange and blue.

Here's one...

The Phoenix Suns have the fourth-best all-time winning percentage in NBA history. They've won 55.9 percent of their games; the Lakers are #1 at 61.8%, the Celtics are #2 at 59.4%, and the Spurs #3 at 57.9%. They're also the winningest franchise in NBA history to never win a championship.

On the opposite end of the spectrum...the Washington Wizards franchise has the worst all-time winning percentage among teams that have won at least one NBA title (45.6 percent)

Stan Musial hit 475 home runs without ever leading the league in homers for a single year.

Eddie Murray hit 504 home runs without ever leading the league outright in homers for a single year.

Al Kaline hit 399 homers without hitting 30 in any one year.

Incidentally, Eddie Murray had the highest batting average of any major league player in the 1990 season, and failed to win a batting title.

Despite three attempts to purchase an NHL franchise for (much) more than market value, Jim Ballsille does NOT own an NHL franchise.

If I remember correctly, when the Mountain West Conference was formed, their champion wasn't given an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament in their first season. This is the reason why the NCAA Tournament is now at 65 teams instead of 64...because the selection committee wanted to keep the number of at-large berths at 31.

Sammy Sosa is the only player in MLB history to have three seasons of hitting 60+ HR's. In each of those three seasons, Sosa didn't lead his league in HR's.....

Talking of Stan Musial, you will of course know he had 3,630 career hits. 1,815 of those were at home, 1,815 were on the road.

The National League is actually classified as Quadruple-A.

Bill Simmons does not know everything. And the NL Champion has won 2 of the last 4 World Series.
