So we don't get Texas A and M vs. Utah State. Now it's a break for Oprah and news. Is the game played in this slot just played for the west coast (and pertinent local interest markets)? Either way, this is why a network should not have exclusive coverage. The two-hour gap that our market (and most, I'm guessing) has should be covered somewhere by cable.

Just my beef. I suppose I need a sports viewing break anyway.

Why do people keep talking about conferences?

http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=reply_post&f=8&t=72424&qpid=1305912

Because some of them are supposed to be good basketball conferences. Take The Big East for example.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Big East had 8 schools in the tournament and as of this post, are barely 1-3 (could have been 0-4). The three losses have all come against vastly lower seeds (#11 ODU, #11 Washington, and #14 Ohio).

It would appear that someone missed the joke. Which, based on the screen name, makes sense I guess.

Infrared, you missed my post that prompted my thorough response, which was: "Wasn't the Big East supposed to be a basketball conference? We've been fooled." Five minutes later, the admiral replied. Since you and I are talking about the same side of the coin (I had beaten you to the punchline already), e.g. the Big East is not representing itself admirably in the tournament so far, isn't it comforting to support the "joke" with facts? Further, I'm not as Mindless as I seem, but thank you for your insult.

A. I did see your post and if it was "the punchline" then it wasn't funny. But that's beside the point, your response to my post gave no indication that you were in on the joke. "Correct me if I'm wrong but..." and you proceeded to go an about bad The Big East has played so far. Funny stuff.

B. C'mon, you don't think the screen name "Mindless" played right into it? It wasn't meant as an insult. I was kidding.

Relax dude. It was all in fun.

Well then, no worries.

You can watch it online on the NCAA's website for free.

It's to prevent games in Pacific time zones from starting before noon local time. I think this game is being broadcast in just Texas and Utah....I'd assume the left-coast CBS affiliates would like a 2-hour break as well. I assume they air the 9am PDT games.

The game is online and on CBS College Sports. If pepole want to see it, there are ways to watch. FYI, the west coast has gone to local programming.

Some thoughts on the day after OU's victory over Georgetown.

This school is very pro Ohio State athletics, but it was awesome to see all the green and white Ohio shirts out last night. It will be interesting to see how OU students handle it if we play OSU in the sweet sixteen.

That's simple, they better root for The Bobcats. Anyone that doesn't should be kicked out of Ohio University. :D

I don't know what's being broadcast right now (I'm at work), I do know that the local CBS is broadcasting games on OTA digital channels. For these first couple rounds, it's pretty awesome.

The "happy hour" game is generally the second game in the afternoon session at a western time zone hosting site. Otherwise, San Jose and Spokane would have had 9:30 AM local tipoffs.

That's one of the nice things of having CBS College Sports on your cable package: The chance to see those 'Happy Hour' games in San Jose and Spokane... Although both of those games were really lacking in excitment.

Right now, there's a good one in Milwaukee between Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State with the game now tied and New Mexico State has made it interesting in Spokane against Michigan State. Plus, Florida State and Gonzaga are still duking it out.

As for Duke... Well, I guess Arkansas-Pine Bluff can actually say that they have won an NCAA Tournament game now.

Well this batch of games is making up for earlier today. Fla St.-Zags and Gt-Ok St. are both coming down to the wire. And New Mexico State has come back to make it close against Michigan St, still over 10 minutes to play there though.

This Michigan State-New Mexico State game has been a exhibition on free throw shooting.

Agreed. Speaking of free throw shooting... Can anyone explain why Wofford went only 1 for 7 in the 2nd half against Wisconsin today? Those six misses were the difference between a loss and yet another 13 seed beating a 4 seed.

Well today sucks.

Two upsets though I don't consider a 10 over a 7 an upset and Cornell blew Temple out of Jacksonville.

Thought the Catamounts and Gauchos could do some good that's not happening so I guess Houston and Maryland can hopefully save this day.

EDIT: Gauchos only down by 12 with just under 8 to play. Who knows?

If I had my way that's how it would work, but people don't think like me. I grew up in Columbus with two Ohio State graduates for parents and I love Ohio State in sports (especially football), but I chose not to go there (I was accepted). I think you can only be so much of a fan of a school that you don't attend and when they're playing the school you do attend then you root for your school. People always say things like "I cheered for OSU for 19 years, I've only gone here 2 years." That's understandable, but OSU will have plenty of opportunities to go far in the tournament, Ohio U won't.

This is all being very presumptuous. OU and OSU still have to beat Tennessee and Georgia Tech, respectively in order to play each other.

Tested a bit but win easily. Good start to the tournament for the Terps. Move onto Sunday to face Michigan St.

Izzo vs. Williams

Vasquez vs. Lucas

It will be a great game Sunday.

St Mary's and Nova will kick things off tomorrow lets see how the Wildcats bounce back after escaping by the skin of their teeth against Robert Morris.

So, wait... Connecticut, North Carolina, UCLA, Arizona and Indiana ALL missed the tournament this year? Oh man, this has gotta be the most star studded NIT ever.
