Bills confirm new uniform for 2011

No. The military members were wearing the on-field jerseys which are never for retail sale and Jim Kelly and the rest were wearing the retail authentics which normally go for at least $200. I didn't see any replicas at the unveiling, only in their official online shop.

Thanks for clearing that up; I was just kind of assuming the retired players were wearing "replicas" not "authentics". I guess I thought the "authentics" were the same as the on-field jerseys just without any position-specific tailoring (like what kickers would wear).

Regarding the Steelers - it could be time for them to shrink their sleeve stripes a bit, but the overall look would still stay the same. Size-wise they could be shrunk to fill the same space as the current Lions (which would fit better on the current non-sleeves). Again, just size-wise; don't change the stripe patterns for the Steelers.

That wording makes it sound like you thought the Bills had the best uniforms in the AFC East... I gotta say, in my opinion the Pats now have the worst uniforms in the division. I'll grant you that I don't get a huge chubby from white-on-white-on-white, but I do love the look of white-on-color-on-white. We just gotta get the Pats to go back to the pat the patriot snapping the football look and the AFC East will be lookin fresh as shieettt!

The PATRIOTS didn't accumulate their 3 Lombardi trophies with Pat the Patriot. They lost 2 of 6 with that look, then lost to GB with the newer logo which still hadn't contained their current look with navy, I believe they were still in royal then, and wore white with gray pants with the silver face-mask the season they lost to the PACKERS in the Super Bowl with Parcells.

I just don't foresee that we're going to be seeing their Pat-Patriot logo return for anything other than limited throwbacks twice a year. I'm NO fan of that team, but I just don't have a problem with their current set as others are ... I'd like to see them wear their 1960 set as throwbacks with the 1770s hat logo, something different that many have never before seen.

The gray jersey they wore in the mid-2000s as an alternate was kinda odd, many didn't even notice it on TV as it was just before the HDTV days , so that look I always found to be a bit odd.

"Authentic" in the NFL is a very misleading word...especially when you pay over $200 for them and the ones on the field are still different.

They lost one Super Bowl in the Pat the Patriot look.

They wore red facemasks the year they lost to the Packers.

They lost one Super Bowl in the Pat the Patriot look.

They wore red facemasks the year they lost to the Packers.

Okay I stand corrected, but they were in the royal blue scheme the year the played GB ..... but the main point I was trying to make is they achieved all their success (and tuck luck) with their current look, Elvis-Navy, so for that reason I couldn't see them changing back to the Pat-Patriot red jersey look.

"Authentic" in the NFL is a very misleading word...especially when you pay over $200 for them and the ones on the field are still different.

Yeap ... Many didn't realize just how misleading it was until this past Friday night during the BILLS unveiling and seeing the Marines & BILLS alumni standing side by side

Those stupid jerseys still get me confused on whether or not the Pats are wearing grey or white when they wear the whites at home

As for the Bills' new look... meh. They're an upgrade to the previous uniforms, but anything would be an upgrade to that. It's a decent look, but something feels kinda empty with them. I dunno, maybe a red helmet would be better? It's something I can't really put a word into, something just doesn't feel right.

Now that the Bils monochrome nightmare is over, there are no more really horrid uniforms in the NFL. Some are still bad, so here s my list

Worst uniforms

1. Vikings: The side panel isn't needed, the shoulder horn would be more recognizable without it. Fix the pants and the font, and they're good.

2. Bengals: Unnecesary sidepanels, and they need to fix the tiger stripes on the sleeves and pants. Need a new font too. Make the tiger the logo again while you're at it.

3. Jaguars: I don't mind the home, but the away is horrid. Add some gold and make teal dominant on the road,or even better go back to the 2000 uni.

4. Steelers: Their sleeve stripes are awful, and the pant stripe is too thick. The helmet should be balanced.

5. Browns: I agree with Lights Out on that 80's uni being their best ever. Put some numbers on the helmet, ditch the AL patch, use orange pants, put stripes on the brown pants, bring back the orange alt Put "Browns" on the logo helmet

PS: would the Bills unis be so maligned if they didn't insist on the monochrome. The Bledsoe era wasn't awful

DWF15-499086.jpg

a_bledsoe_i.jpg

I agree with some and disagree with some from your list

I agree with the vikings and bengals, the side panels on the jersey is not necessary and the tiger needs to return maybe on the back of the jersey, the vikings, i wish they to go back to the throwbacks full time,I've seen enough of the current set, need a fresh start again.

I have no problem with JAX unis, but need a touch of gold,

the browns, as much I love the 80's look, the current set is just perfect to me......... in my opinionated taste just get rid of the turd pants and bring back the orange pants, but no logo on the helmets.. sorry

the steelers, the only thing needs to change is the numerals and font on the back of the jerseys. everything else off limits. perfect as it can get next to oakland, kansas city and the NY Giants.

this my wish

detroit- keep the current numeral and name font, but switch the unis back to the barry sanders era unis

SF- get the stripes fixed

Rams- back to the 1999 era unis

carolina- use the baby blue as the primary home jerseys

houston- no more monochrome

denver- orange jersey as the primary

tampa - add black jersey as an alternate

new england- dump the striped socks on the road, add a red alternate from the current design or use the 1985 throwbacks and black shoes

philadelphia- silver pants

san diego- current set good, but get rid of current powder blue and return to AFL powder blue as alternate

A poster mentioned this a few pages back, but my main problem with the Navy is that it appears to show up in varying amounts on different jerseys. I'm not sure if the "1"s on all the #11 jerseys don't show a lot of navy trim, or its just a matter of difference between the replicas and authentics, but I think these jerseys just look silly..almost like a high school uniform. Their reasoning was that "a lot of fans really liked the navy era and they wanted to keep it around for them".

Also please please wear blue pants. That would be so much better.

So let me get this straight.... the thicker navy outline is on the REPLICAS, and the barely noticeable navy outline is on the authentics? Or is it the opposite? I don't think it should be as thick as pictured here, looks amateur-ish, but I wish it was a little thicker than the outlines seen on the military jersey models at the unveiling, that's too thin IMO.

Those ARE the authentics in that picture. There's a huge difference between the $200+ authentics and the on-field jerseys that are not for sale.

So then what is this? A replica or replithentic perhaps. Open ended sleeves with no cuff, non-tapered body and everything appears screened- hard to tell.

But the Navy is thin not thick.

Yes, it would have ... just not as quite as bad .... we were never a midnight blue colored team.

We never knew that the look was going to resort to monochrome at that unveiling. They didn't wear it from the get-go as most know and can see from your photo.

It was bad enough that they added the nickel color, Donahoe stating that the color it was part of our history (from the '60 and '61 LIONS-like uniforms) ......

If I remember correctly, we were very stunned with the road jersey having that huge midnight-navy yoke on the shoulders, and both having all that red along the sides of the jerseys. It was never intended for the BILLS to wear all blue at home and white on white for the road, as it was never presented that way at the unveiling.

If it was intended, they didn't wanna spring it on us all at once ...After the '65 throwbacks came in 2005 the fans have been aching to change get out of the mistake of 2002. Can't believe it took this long.

I'm also wondering why the Reebok Logo is covered up. Am I crazy, or is that an Adidas logo on chest?

Nobody ... I mean nobody ... circles the wagons like The Buffalo Bills

Where are the blue pants? The last thing the AFC East needs is another boring white-on-white-on-white look. Best uniforms in the Division now is the New England Patriots.

That wording makes it sound like you thought the Bills had the best uniforms in the AFC East... I gotta say, in my opinion the Pats now have the worst uniforms in the division. I loved their last set. If you read my previous posts I stated that I thought it was great that they stepped outside the box for those uniforms. In addition, I own jersey of every uniform I like and last year I added to my collection by purchasing a Bills jersey. I liked them, I liked the monochrome look of the team. So, yes, I thought they had a nice looking uniform for that division. But my favorite uniforms in the league belong to these teams:

Outside of dropping the Nickel and the addition of Gray (for the facemask) the colors didn't change at all. Here's a comparison - first, the solid/spot colors:
