Not much "freaking out" here, but I think it's worth speculating on the changes they're making to the road wordmark.

Speculate away. I truly wish I could disclose more information, but I'd lose my privileges in a snap.

It will be, don't worry.

Like I said earlier, folks, please don't read into the date changes too much. Even the slightest alteration will demand a new "time period," so don't freak out. Thank you.

Man, you're killin' me! When is the new O's stuff going to be leaked, announced or released?! I can't wait!

I just hope they get an orange alternate.

An orange alternate would be nice, as long as it's only worn about twice a month (maybe Sunday home games, for example). I just don't want to see them become one of those teams that has multiple alternates and wears them way too much.

I really hope the cartoon bird comes back to the Orioles. The changes mentioned, white panel home and black road, sound fantastic, although I would like to see the black cap with orange bill come back full-time in some capacity too. Huge fan of the Cartoon Oriole!

hmm looking at the sight it seems like the Mets are indeed dropping the drop shadow!

all their current Uniforms end at 2011 (except the black jerseys)

The Mets script with drop shadow ends at 11 while the non-drop shadow one says present.

and the black and blue brim hat also ends at 11.

All seems like great signs to me! Looks like the all blue hat will become the primary one again home and away, no drop shadow on anything and black is merely an alt hopefully being phased out for the new blue alts coming soon :D! cant wait to see the 50th anniversary patch too

Sorry if it's been asked, but have any of these teams other than the Marlins set unveiling dates?

Granted, it's Wikipedia...so I don't know how much stock to put in it but in this entry it notes that the Blue Jays will unveil their uniforms on November 17th (don't know if that's a date consistent with what others have heard or said):

My prediction:

The "new hat" is going to just be going to the O's hat full time. Which would just plain awful.

I love the cartoon bird and it fit great in its time but I don't know if it works as a full time cap logo today. Moving to the O's cap full time would be a mistake though. I think the current bird could work on a white fromt cap, someone who posts here regularly has a version of that in his sig but I don't recall who. I think it'd be pretty funny for them to go back to the cartoon given that they've made changes to the modern bird several times to make it more and more like an actual bird. There's gonna be some chatty days here this offseason as these are all revealed.

It's weird to look up pictures of the old Baltimore Orioles dynasty: Frank Robinson stoically glaring, Earl Weaver arguing with the intensity of a thousand suns, Jim Palmer mowing down unassuming batters, all while wearing a pinwheel hat with a smiling cartoon bird on it. The only Oriole great who wasn't in some manner demeaned by their horrible hat was Steve Stone, because

he hits rock bottom with the '70s gay pornstache before you even see the hat.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

He had to have made money somehow before broadcasting.

All right, here's a tip for all you young ballplayers out there. If you're looking for a mid-sized city with a vibrant gay district, I can't say enough good things about Baltimore, Maryland. The nightlife is outstanding, and the shore-leave nature of the city means that you, as a traveling player, won't have to worry about difficult emotional attachments.

I wish the who "gay porn mustache" meme would die. I mean, people had mustaches for many years before they supposedly appeared in gay '70s porn. Mustaches are awesome, and I wish they would come back in style, particularly ridiculous ones. Walt Fraisier? Rollie Fingers? Thurman Munson? Lanny McDonald? Eddie Murray damn near pulling off the Ambrose Burnside? Yes please. Today, we are left with only John Axford as a shining beacon of ridiculous mustacheness. Hell, I'd settle for a Mattingly or a Keith Hernandez at this point.

And in case anyone is wondering, I don't have a mustache because it would take too long to grow and my wife told me she would cut me off until I shaved it.
