"Premier" replica jerseys

This is a recently-acquired replica (tag says "Reebok Onfield"). It's one of the "Premier" replicas and, never having owned one before, I'm pretty satsfied with it. What's the difference between the Premier jerseys and the authentic onfield types? Overall better materials/workmanship?

"Premier" replica looks to be the same as what was called EQT. Numbers and lettering a tackle twill and sewn on. The different is that if the numbers and letters are multicolored, the different colors are screened into the twill, and a fake stitching pattern is printed between the colors. So it's one digit/character sewn onto the jersey, but all the different colors of the character are dyed into it.

Normally, each color is sewn on and layered separately (or the outlines are sewn on, depending on the team).

Replicas are also sized by S-M-L-XL-XXL etc instead of numbers (48, 50, 52, 54...etc).

There may be other differences, but this is what I've seen personally.

I think the material used on the different parts of the jersey are different for authentics as well. The Bears jerseys are mesh, even on the shoulders, and all the Premier jerseys have the dazzle (or whatever they call it) shoulder material.

I really like the Premier jerseys. It's a lot better quality than the replicas without a huge difference in price.

From nflshop.com's Jersey Buyer's Guide:

===

Premier jerseys are made with slightly heavier fabric than Replica jerseys and have sewn-on numbers and names. These jerseys fall in-between the on-field Authentic jerseys and the Replica jerseys.

There's a lot more there in the table comparing Replicas vs. Premier vs. "Authentic" (they're never exactly like those worn on the field no matter what NFL Properties tries to sell/tell us).

A lot of leagues do this. Usually it goes In order of worst to best: replica, [adjective], authentic. The replicas are not worth buying while the premier/swingman are more affordable and decent quality. I would never buy an authentic because the price is massive and the title is misleading.

1 - are the numbers really sewn on, or twill that's simply glued on?

2. Is that even the correct number font for those jerseys? Shouldn't the inside of the numbers be square?

The NFL needs to follow the NBA's lead and drop the price of their replicas. Sure NBA replicas aren't perfect, but you can't beat the $35 price tag. That's cheaper than some 59Fiftys.

The NFL actually has a lower-grade replica in the $35 price range sold at stores like JC Penney. Those are on par with the NBA low-level replicas in terms of accuracy in design compared to the real deal.

Oh, they have many...

That's one they sell at Wal-Mart, and they have others that have the helmet on the sleeves.
