What I would have done... and what I feel they should have done!!!

More balanced looking, & much more robust IMO.

Blitz, I think this is a pretty great update to the Blue Jays classic original logo. I like the extra shading you've added. If we can't go back to the original in 2012, and if some people think that one looks too much like a 1970's design, then yours is a very suitable update.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

So -- from what I'm seeing in that lil' video -- it would appear to that the new Jays cap is dark blue, with the bill/brim being a lighter shade of blue...? I'm wondering, out loud, if this will be the same for both the home and away? I'm really hoping they have a solid blue cap in their set. Anyone else direct the video yet?

Thought I'd also include these two little peeky-pie's for those who haven't seen the vid;

I thought you may be able to make out the font used for the nameplate...

...and a wee look at the "S" in Jays, I presume.

they certainly make it appear as though the bill is a lighter shade from the rest of the cap..

So, what can we see in that video?

? Double piping around sleeve cuffs

? Double piping down the pant legs

? Possible cap with dark blue crown and lighter blue bill

? Possible return to varsity block NOB font

The cap does not appear to be multi-colored at all. Look at the top and bottom pictures - the crown on top matches the brim on the bottom. You're letting shadows fool you.

The bill looks to be the same shade of blue as the rest of the cap. Chris has said, numerous times, that it's just the 1993-1996 set with new logos and fonts. So I'm inclines to believe the caps will only be one shade of blue.

Guys, Chris has told us what it all is:

It's 1993 again, with a new logo replacing the old one. The font is slightly different, but is still the "double-pipe" style we grew to love in the 70's and 80's. All other "variance" from 1993 is minor. The "alt" is similar to the 1993 blue batting practice jersey, (that was eventually adopted as an alternate).

Not sure why Chris has to keep telling us what it is, before we accept it.

In fact, someone could mock up the new jersey right now. Just slap the new logo on an old 1993 jersey and you are probably 90% there.

Stick with this forever, and burn everything since 2004.

Wins the thread.

One of the WORST jersey/logo changes in the history of MLB, thankfully, one of the things Jays fans get with this change is even that title is being usurped by the Marlins. Finally, a baseball team has made a dumber marketing move than the Jays. It's nice to climb out of the basement!
