Billy B
I love the stripe on the white helmet. Go with the orange wordmark and a blue or white facemask and it would look perfect. I'm not necessarily a fan of straying from an orange helmet, but if they have to, this white one is the way to go. There are so many prototypes we've seen, it'll be interesting to see what they decide on and how long it takes them to decide.
thespleenenator
Ugh. Hopefully they don't go with any of that. The only change needed is to switch to the Illini wordmark or the I logo without the circle. We don't need multiple helmets.Probabley not, but you have to agree, that stripe is beautiful.I love the stripe on the white helmet. MJWalker45
If they use the block M on one side and the oval logo on the other, it would be excellent. The helmet at least would be good for pro combat.I'm not a big fan of different logos on each side. It just screams high school to me. But what I'm getting from the pictures is some kind of tiger stripes similar to the Ducks feathers on the Rose Bowl jersey

These are clearly prototypes and won't all see the field.

Slammersman
Now that's bad! Not as ugly as Tulsa, but still pretty terrible. Is it carbon fiber? If so it makes zero sense. Classic uniforms, classic W font, modern logo, modern helmet texture. This is worse than the Ohio Bobcats mess of '11.that is just horrible...this is what happens when 2nd tier schools try to jump on the uniform and design bandwagon...you get an incoherent mishmash of multiple design styles that have zero continuity...a complete mess.Oh God, this is the worst helmet I've ever seen. This combines Alabama's houndstooth and WMU's logo and it creates this debacle. This proves my point from earlier in the thread that schools should stick to the team colors to create uniforms. If they would've listened to I said, this debacle wouldn't happened. If I see this in a game, I would change the channel right away. Seriously, I could make a helmet better than this.I was thinking that as well I though Houndstooth was a Bama thing. I could see Bama using that if they did a lot of special Uniforms, but they don't. I might like it with a Bama A in Crimson or with an whit outline or the # that way, but I really hope they don't ever. Only helmet special they should do is a White Helmet for Bama. andrewharrington
I like the sstripe on the white helmet. I wonder if there's a good way to make that style work on an orange helmet. Side note: when is the last time we've seen an orange facemask? That's pretty rare, isn't it? I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry [The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the position, strategy or opinions of adidas and/or its brands.]
BrandMooreArt
Here are a couple more pictures of some new prototype Illinois helmets. http://www.illinoisloyalty.com/Forums/showthread.php?p=531988#post531988You know, the different color stripes I think look great together. Reminds me of Virginia in the 80's as well as Arizona. As long as they are not wacky and go in different places, they balance. And yes change the facemask color.EVERYBODY QUIT JUMPING ON THE THROWBACK BANDWAGON!that bandwagon started rollin 15 years ago dudelove Illinois stuff here. grey mask works for me GRAPHIC ARTIST BEHANCE / MEDIUM / DRIBBBLE

The other option is to make the one side blue, the other side white, and make the zigzag orange, but that might not look as good. I like that white stripe on the helmet in the background, too, the one with the small blue zigzags on it. It looks like that stripe tapers in some fashion, though, which I don't like. FFWally
Sent this to Chris Del Conte early this week and was received well. Looks like the logo is staying the same with a more Purple Purple and a possible added color to the unis. I'm thinking Red.^This is an incredible helmet.TCU should keep the frog on the helmet. It's unique, and I'm not sure why Nike wanted to do away with it the first place. I like the crazy number font, too, so I hope TCU keeps the end-of-the-season look from this year going into next year. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms. gdu
FWIW I have heard rumors for a few months that Texas would be getting "pro combat" (not the correct term, but that's another issue) uniforms, but none from a source I would trust. They said the team would try them out at spring practice and I have been to several practices and not seen a thing. This was Keenan Robinson's next tweet FWIW: Keenan Robinson@KeenanRobinson1@JHills5 lol yall got lied to
Kevin W.
I bet it's just Texas getting their uniforms transferred to the Speed Machine template. Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions) King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)
