2012 MLB Season

If you can't sell out Opening :censored:ing Night, :censored: you.

I'm not saying you have to sell out a mid-June game hosting the goddamn Astros, but if hosting the defending champions on Opening Night can't sell out the brand new $500M taxpayer extorted stadium, then it wasn't the old :censored:ing stadium, it's a :censored:ty fanbase.

The Marlins weren't selling any additional tickets. You couldn't buy tickets from the team if you didn't win tickets in the Opening Night lottery. There were upwards of at least 50,000 people (can't remember the exact number) who entered the lottery to get two tickets.

I believe that the empty seats were single seats or the über expensive seats that can only be purchased as part of a season ticket plan. But remember, a game can be a sell-out if full capacity has not been reached granted the remaining seats are single seats.

Simply stated, baseball is the greatest sport ever. Opening Day is the best sports day of the year. Night 162 last season was the greatest regular season day ever, in any sport. Anyone who disagrees should poke themselves in the eye with a #2 pencil.

Yeah, I guess I'm happy baseball is back. B)

hmmm... it just so happens I still have a #2 pencil on my desk...

My favourite type of pencil from when i was in school. Love those things.

I always liked oriole pencils, really good erasers

Dixon Ticonderoga for me.

I'd prefer a bic mechanical if I had to stab myself. I think the finer tip would penetrate further into the brain, assuring death, or at least some undignified soiling of myself while convulsing.

Whatever it takes to get the point across.

I love how a thread about the 2012 MLB season has turned into a discussion about pencils :P

And yes, I mostly use a #2 pencil B)

People still write?

Yes, believe it or not some people do find it easier to write crap down instead of rely on a frail, easily lost/broken/stolen one stop life shop device for all their living needs.

Things the son of a pencil company CEO would say?

Nope. The things somebody familiar with the limitations of modern technology would say.

I have the handwriting of a brain-damaged eight-year-old. If I didn't write things down on paper periodically, I can only imagine what it would atrophy into.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

And yet, I bet your handwriting is still better than mine...

And Lincecum gives up a two run homer to the second hitter of the game. Anyone wanna give me one of those pencils?

Edit: and he gives up another one. WTF?
