2012 MLB Season

Through the first inning I'm already sick of the Chevy commercials.

"Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet!"

Anywho, apparently Grady Sizemore was just placed on the 60-day DL

It's not April Fools Day anymore.

To poke fun at the iron-man himself just isn't being fair.

Not a joke, man. Got an ESPN update to my phone saying "Indians place OF Grady Sizemore (back) on 60-day DL, eligible to return June 3."

Christ. Why?

Mandate from the commissioner's office IIRC.

You know, Marlins Park isn't so bad... I was hoping the aquarium I kept hearing about was bigger (you couldn't tell it was one from what I've seen) and it's great to see a retractable roof.

Now, if the Marlins can do something here... :P

Sounds about right for Sizemore.

Sucks that he can't stay healthy. Not that he'd even be Grady Sizemore anymore even if he was healthy.

I sure don't miss the old bastard, but it feels weird and wrong not seeing Tony La Russa in the dugout, sitting with his 3x5s and his sunglasses, thinking about which batter his pitcher should hit next.

Nope, instead he's an MLB guy now, up in the press box... counting his World Series rings. Just like former Cubs manager... wait. Nevermind. ;)

Thankfully Cards fans are the best in baseball.

It was so strange not seeing TLR in the dugout. I love Mike Matheny, no doubt, but man was that jarring.

Last year's Opening Day... 41,237

Good job, Miami. $500M well spent.

Under 2000 short of capacity wasn't bad considering there was also a game going on featuring a possible NBA Finals match-up and two MVP candidates.

If you can't sell out Opening :censored:ing Night, :censored: you.

I'm not saying you have to sell out a mid-June game hosting the goddamn Astros, but if hosting the defending champions on Opening Night can't sell out the brand new $500M taxpayer extorted stadium, then it wasn't the old :censored:ing stadium, it's a :censored:ty fanbase.

Is there a reason why Opening Day is so late this year, neither on a Monday nor on the first of April? I feel so discombobulated, like there was something I missed and I'm trying to catch up, though all I missed were those Japan games they played a month ago or whatever it's been, and this isn't even the first year they've had those early throwaway A's games in Japan (2008 they did the same thing and no one was memorably agitated). I think it's more that it's a Thursday the 5th when Monday the 2nd would've been perfectly acceptable.
