Remember that in 2004 Italy was eliminated that way by Sweden and Denmark so we should definitely worry about spain trying to eliminate Italy, especially because we're always a tough match for them.

Oh please. What's likely going to keep Italy out of the knockout stages is their lack of wins...

But if Spain And Croatia tie 2-2 we are pretty much already out even if we beat Ireland

A 2-2 ESP/CRO draw and an ITA win would put all three level on 5 points. However, to break the tie, you'd throw out the result against IRL and look at the tie-breaking procedure amongst the three clubs. All three would have 2 points in matches between the teams and a 0 GD. However, ESP and CRO would have 3 GS in those matches and ITA would only have 2.

Then again, a 0-0 ESP/CRO draw and an ITA win sends the Italians through as group winner and the Spanish through as runners-up. That's not happening, though.

OK here's a secret. I know the that in Italy this is what would happen, but the rest of Europe doesn't rig games.

The real irony is that last matches of group stages are played at the same time to avoid fixing results, after West Germany and Austria played out a 0-0 draw they knew would eliminate Algeria. The current arrangement doesn't eliminate the opportunity to stitch up group rivals.

First time the Dutch are sent packing in a group stage at a major tournament since Euro 1980 and only the fourth time ever. (34' & 38' World Cup)

What was supposed to be the next great group of Dutch talent, come away empty handed. See in ya in 2014! Hopefully.

I love Khedira's style to play.

I'm a simple person, I have a pixelated David Beckham as profile photo since 2010.
