Should have saw this coming from a mile away.

Since the tournament expanded to 16 nations in 1996. Italy (96), Germany (04), France (08) and Netherlands (12) all lost the previous World Cup final, and never made it out of the Group Stage at the following European Championship.

Still stunning to see the Dutch go 0-3 though.

Hoping for Italy to pull things out Monday.

I think England or France, maybe even Ukraine. Will prove formidable opposition for Spain.

Also, yes Mario Balotelli with the Goal of the Tourney so far.

So the breakdown whether or not it was offside or not. It was not.

Iniesta starts the run behind the Croatian defender, so he can legally touch the ball when he is given it, and when he slides it over to Navas, Navas is behind Iniesta when he plays the ball at first. A lot to handle.

Though Mario Mandžukić and Croatians probably have a good case that he should have been given a penalty in the first half. Only one Penalty all tournament so far, and it was missed. I wonder if the Refs will still play it this closely come the knockout phase.

Fair to say that Ireland was clearly the worst team in Euro 2012, if you put in Goal Difference (-8 GD).

Also fair to say that Balotelli had an epic goal to seal Italy's quarterfinal spot. Nothing like a fancy goal for a guy who is, for all intents and purposes, the Italian T.O.

Ireland were kind of unlucky as well in that not only were they one of the weakest teams, but in a group with three very strong teams, playing very well.
