@crlachepinochet: The Powercat is everywhere. I know one of the high schools (the one with the silver helmet below) pays $500 every two years to K-State through its student council to license the logo. Another high school uses it (though its mascot is the Mountain Lions).

One other high school created what I call the "Powerhawk":

If the Simpsons taught me anything, it's that the Wildcats name is probably the most popular in the country, so it's not surprising. The amusing part for me was how they felt like it was theirs enough to plaster it on the side of the building (and the school is on a major road). Somehow to me it seems like a whole other level of stealing.

Lawrence North (Greg Oden's HS) here in Indy also uses it. I think they have a licensing thing worked out around the country.

I've always hated how Depew used the K-State logo for their sports teams and then after they redesigned the front of the school they put that logo up there

Woah! You think I'm Cody? My name is Carl Scott Simone and we just happen to share a birthday. BIG DEAL.

Which school is that first helmet? The HS I went to had that exact helmet but I'm not sure if we pay for the logo rights or not

My HS alma mater's arch rival uses an old version of the Washington State Cougar head logo.

Destrehan Wildcats (alma mater of Ed Reed)

And St Amant High School outside of Baton Rouge, LA used to use several logos from the University of Florida. Recently they were ordered to stop though:

Here's what they switched to for their helmets just before last season:

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.
