Can anyone (ColorWrex?) enlighten me on this one? I have a problem with the official Red.

The Pelicans have two different Reproduction Guideline Sheet files uploaded.

The older one (with the word "confidential") shows a 225/58/62 RGB. The newer one (without the word "confidential") shows 227/24/55. Both of them also show Pantone 186.

When analysed side to side, they seem to be three different shades of red. What's going on? Am I doing something wrong?

...

The designers are more than likely using Illustrator to determine RGB values, and possibly between different versions of swatch libraries.

I store these "custom" RGB and CMYK values that the teams and leagues provide, but to be honest - I don't put too much stock into them.

Whenever I refer to "official" colors using Pantone colors, all RGB and CMYK values that I use as standard come from Pantone's own specs. For the latest measurements for PANTONE 186 C, you'd use this:

These are the most accurate to matching current Pantone standards; anything else would be potentially outdated.

ColorWerx saving the day. Thanks buddy.

So even after all this crap PHX is doing to get everyone riled up, New Orleans will unveil theirs first and with absolutely no fanfare beforehand. Go figure.

Leave it to Sarver.

As Nicky Santoro quipped in 'Casino', "this guy could **** up a cup of coffee."

On a more positive note, can't wait to see the Peli's uni's.

When are they unveiling unis? At least with PHX, we've already gotten a few teaser images.

If I wanted teasers, I would go to a strip club. Just go all the way already.

I'm not a big fan of teasers either. Either show us the whole thing or don't. It's like peeping at a Christmas present early otherwise, by the time the big day comes along you know what's coming. Well done Pelicans for keeping the wrapping papers in tact!!

The "teasers" work because there are a lot of people who tend to instantly hate everything that's new, only to come around to it after some time. The teasers get you ready for what's coming, so you have time to put the pieces together and come up with a few versions of what it may look like, so when it's unveiled you're not shocked. You've also had some time to process the leaked parts, and when it's unveiled, there's less chance of the insta-hate.

Not to say that people still won't hate it when it's unveiled, but it's probably a true hate as opposed to a knee jerk reaction.

From PelicansTeamStore.com:

hope that isnt the number font, because it'd be great if it matched the logo / wordmark typeface and its uniqueness.

If that's actually an Adidas jersey shirt, they do use the uniform font on those. If that is real...a very uninspiring number font.

Oh and I hope putting the city name on both jerseys doesn't become a thing in the NBA (Brooklyn, New Orleans). I'm with the group that thinks Pelicans is a pretty cool name, and obviously it's very unique. Shame it won't be on either uniform.

Random tangent but hell, if any team should go with their city name on both jerseys it's the Wizards, who seem to be trying to stray away from the wizard identity. And it'd be a decent first step for those who want them to be the Bullets again.
