All everyone does is bitch and bitch about preseason football sucking and having the chutzpah to suck at full price and generally being a tedious chore and an unwanted reminder of the end of summer, and all this is incontrovertibly true, but then everyone's like OH GOD SWEET SWEET FOOTBALL IS BACK FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY OH I MISSED YOU SO MUCH MWUH MWUH MWUH. I've seen more dignity from heroin addicts.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Because football fans in general are idiots. Just look at the Sports Logos forum.

Oh, and Jay Cutler threw a pick on his first attempt last night so that was pretty funny.

I'm curious....between the number of folks here and people in general, how many of those complaining about the price of preseason games are actually buying these tickets? Not the season ticket packages that include the preseason games, but preseason games only.

Says the guy who blindly follows a product that constantly shoves pineapples up their fan's asses. You suck, Bettman! Now shut up and take my money!

Point is, sports can be like an abusive relationship. Sports can abuse you and make you feel unbelievable pain. If someone tries to take him away, you will fall on your knees and scream "BUT I LOOOOOVE HIM!" You know what I am talking about.

Years later it turns out HGH proves to be a crippling blight to ACL/MCLs and the obvious red flag of abusers.

So THAT'S how Joe Morgan got all swole like that! :D

I bought one once but it was a special occasion - a trip to Lambeau to see the Saints and Packers. Paid $75 for a Row 6 seat near the goal line and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a gorgeous day, the Green Bay fans were terrific, and I could smell the freshly mowed field from my seat. Made a day of it since people started tailgating about 11am for a 730pm kickoff. An awesome experience that was well worth the cost (my ticket, hotel & meals - I miss my free airline travel!).

But I wouldn't pay $25 to go to any other preseason game.

I bought tickets to the HOF game in 1999 because it was the first game for the new Browns. Would I buy tickets to a regular preseason game? No. I like preseason football, but I don't like it enough to spend money on it.

Pre-season NFL football has a purpose, I get that. I just have no desire to watch it, and I think it's crap that you have to buy the tickets for those games, at full price, when you buy season tickets.

If I was a Viking season ticket holder I'd be pretty upset that I have to buy two of those games for only 7 regular games this year, since the Vikes are the "home" team in London.

Anyone watch the Bills game? How did EJ look?

From what I heard. Pretty good, the Bills need to start him. I've said it before, what does Kevin Kolb bring to the table that Manuel can't? We know what Kolb is, a serviceable backup (saying a lot), who's starting time in the sun is over. EJ was highly regarded by the Bills, maybe the team in Green to the south of the state should take some advice from the Bills, if they start EJ.

Kolb's only guaranteed $1M, so i'm sure he's got plenty of incentive to perform. That being said, Kevin Kolb blows.

Things have not been too good for ol Bernie lately.

It appears the Kosar's once lived on Silver Street and had a dog named Lexie.

I did something last night that I thought I'd never do. I went to an NFL practice. I spent all day at the Reds stadium and my ride decided to go to the Bengals Family Night at Paul Brown Stadium down the street so I was kinda forced to tag along. I thought at least I'd get some cool pictures, but because I'm a knucklehead I forgot to bring my Nikon.

Anyways, some observations:

- watching a football team practice is even more boring than being involved in a football practice (which is a huge reason I quit football after sophomore year).

- Bengals fans, especially those who go to a free practice, are a completely different breed than Reds fans. My roommate commented that the air smelled like people who shower at the most twice a week. We began to refer to them as the great unwashed.

- knock off jerseys. SO MANY knockoff jerseys and the Bengals must be giving the counterfeiters fits because they can't seem to get the oranges or the number font or the tiger stripes or anything right on these things.

- Dane Sanzebacher is trying like hell to make the team. I'm rooting for him.

- The Bengals helmet looks as awesome as ever. Even in year 33 those things still dazzle me.

- There were a ton of interceptions, which I know happens in practice a lot because the defense knows the playbook, but a couple of them were just from bad Andy Dalton passes, which sorta worries me.

- Jermaine Gresham made a couple sweet catches. I wish he'd caught a few of those in the playoff loss.

- I bought a low profile orange 47 brand hat to match my black 47 brand hat, which brings my collection of those kind of hats to 15. I may have a problem.

I thought he looked pretty good. He started out fairly slow, going 1 for 5 or something like that. Then he started to pick it up, making good reads, making plays with his legs. He put together a great 2 minute drive at the end of the first half, capped off by his TD pass to Dickerson. Basically, he needs to start.
