Before the World Series started, I was in here wondering why people were so down on this match-up. After five games, I'm wondering what I was thinking. I've really tried to give a flying :censored: about this World Series, but I just don't. It pains me to say that because baseball is my favorite sport, but I just don't have it in me to invest any time in this series. Unlike the majority around here, I actually like the Cardinals. Like the majority around here, I don't like the Red Sox. Normally, my Red Sox "hate" combined with an appreciation for the Cards would be enough to rustle up some interest, but it's not happening. It's probably the fact that, going in to the playoffs, we had a shot at seeing some new blood in the World Series only to end up with more of the same.

Anyway, I'd like to retract my earlier statements questioning the lack of interest in this World Series. I totally get it now. B)

Yeah, my interest in baseball dropped off once the Braves got eliminated.

It's not a matchup I got excited about....the Cardinals and Red Sox playing in the World Series feels like a near-annual thing. To be fair, I don't think I'd have watched much more of the playoffs, no matter who was left (Braves aside). Been busy with work, and the World Series has been going up against football most of the time.

I've watched maybe 6 innings so far. Total.

Baseball has become a regional sport. I think it's much easier to watch and enjoy a football game without a rooting interest than a baseball game. Same probably goes for basketball and hockey, even though the fan bases are smaller.

What a terrible time for the Cardinals to play their worst baseball of the season. They've been downright miserable at the plate.

What's that chant the Red Sox crowd says when Victorino comes to bat? And how did that start up?

Speaking of Victorino, seems like he's always getting the timely hit/play. Saw that way too many times when he played for the Phillies....him feasting on the Braves pitching in key September games. He's a pain-in-the-dumper I wish the Braves had.....

Thank goodness Stan Musial isn't around to watch this.

Ted Williams' head is laughing at him now.

Well, the Cards look pretty boned right now, but it's not like the Cards haven't turned it around from a deep deficit in game 6 of the World Series...

Such a shame to see Boston get another sports trophy. What is in that precious New England water these days? Cause I'd like to get some to San Jose sometime soon.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."
