rams80
Ken Wisenhunt goes to Titans. Why, Titans? He was terrible at Arizona besides the one super bowl appearance.I believe you answered your own question. Lee Noire
Ken Wisenhunt goes to Titans. Why, Titans? He was terrible at Arizona besides the one super bowl appearance. In my opinion a feat like that will get any coach jobs he probably doesn't deserve for at least 3-5 years after. Say if Chud got the Browns to the game or dare I say won it, once he left he'd be on top coaching lists for years. That is until he flames out at his second gig. Just a guess anyway. See Red
Ken Wisenhunt goes to Titans. This just validates all of Wisenhunt's offensive gaffes for the 1st three quarters yesterday. What were they supposed to do, get in a shoot out with Peyton with a defense that wasn't getting stops? The only chance they had in that game was killing clock, like the last time they played... Just didn't work this time. Keep in mind, early in the game they could pass protect to save their lives. They couldn't do anything in the passing game until Harris got injured. Say what you want about the gameplan but it was the only chance they had. Broncos were just better and didn't sleepwalk through the game like in December. Bit was a #1 seed against a team that shouldn't have made the playoffs to start with. And frankly, how was the play calling so terrible?

dfwabel
Because the Titans are a stuck in the mud franchise that is neither bad enough to tank nor good enough to contend. This hiring will do little to help push them in the positive direction. What this hire does is end the career of Jake Locker as it is unlikely his fifth year option is picked up between now and mid-May. TEN has a GM starting year 3, didn't draft Locke, used last off season to sign all the offensive guards, and now hired a coach in Whisenhunt who essentially got the Arizona job from his work at PIT with Roethlisberger. Kramerica Industries
Yes, but just a rudimentary overview of Whisenhunt's time in Arizona indicates that developing QB's, or finding success with anybody who wasn't a magically resurrected Kurt Warner, was his weakest point. I suppose one could make the argument that part of the QB problem stemmed from having relatively mediocre players (Leinart, Kolb, Skelton, Lindley, Hoyer, maybe someone else I'm forgetting) and another part of the problem stemmed from a really bad O-line, but that has to go back on Whisenhunt, no? t's not the best fit, to my knowledge. I dunno, you may be better versed on this.In any case, moving on from Locker is likely in their best interests long-term. I've never been a big fan of Locker, going well back to his college days, and he's always been something of an enigma on the field, and a question mark to even be on the field. (As an asides, Chris Johnson is almost certainly out the door now as well in Tennessee.) The question obviously now becomes about who will be Locker's eventual successor, and I'm not sure what the answer to that question is.
LAWeaver
I feel as if Whisenhunt should have went to Detroit. There is better talent there and maybe JUST MAYBE they would've been competing for an NFC North Title. @loganaweaver - Twitter / @loganaweaver - Instagram / Nike Vapor Untouchable Football Template / Logan's Logos
OnWis97
Vikings fans, you will LOVE Mike Zimmer. Congratulations on getting a great coach. It is starting to look like he's the most likely hire. The enthusiasm many Vikes fan may otherwise have is dampened by the fear that he would retain his friend Bill Musgrave as Offensive Coordinator. There is better talent there and maybe JUST MAYBE they would've been competing for an NFC North Title. There had to have been something going on behind the scenes in Detroit for him to have picked Tennessee over them. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were unwilling to give him the roster control he wanted so he took a pass. It makes even more sense now that they hired Caldwell, who was basically held down by the throat by Bill Polian the entire time he was in Indianapolis. Does it or does that fall on the shoulders of GM, who was his GM during his coaching tenure and was fired by Arizona the same day or does it even fall on the man who replaced Graves, Steve Keim? Before becoming GM last January, Keim held the following positions with the team:VP of of Player Personnel (May 2012-January 2013); Director, Player Personnel (May 2008-May 2012) and Director of College Scouting (June 2006-May 2008).Were those who were also in the room with the HC as bad or worse at their job?Honestly, the Vikings are going to have the same issue since GM Rick Speilman, who did not have the title of GM due to the team not naming one, was in the room to draft Ponder as he was in charge of scouting, free agency and draft preparations prior to becoming GM.
