Happy Opening Day! This is a series over a year in the making. When Nike’s 4+ 1 rule went into effect prior to the 2023 season, it got me thinking: Taken to its logical extreme, what if Nike not only limited each team to four jerseys, but mandated that number? What would it look like if teams who have historically refrained from wearing alternates, such as the Yankees, Dodgers and Tigers, suddenly had two each? Now, I want to make it clear that I in no way condone such an idea. This is simply a creative exercise to imagine what it would look like if all 30 MLB teams had five uniform options. The truth is the majority of the league isn’t actually impacted by the 4+ 1 rule. As such, I’ll be leaving those teams alone. I will, however, be using this series as an opportunity to fix some things that have always bugged me about a few teams’ looks; no major redesigns, just some tweaks here and there. I also want to avoid teams having multiple jerseys of the same color (which includes their City Connect), which, in some cases, will demand some outside the box solutions. Side note: Even though I really wanted to launch this series on Opening Day, this project will roll out a bit slower than my previous series, as I'll be waiting on the remaining nine City Connects slated for this season to be unveiled before I tackle those teams. PITTSBURGH PIRATES: HOME: ROAD: HOME ALT: ROAD ALT: CITY CONNECT: Notes: - Pittsburgh gets a new off-white, sleeveless home set that harkens back to the team’s late ‘50s-60 look. The road and road alt are now sleeveless, as well. - As mentioned in my introduction, I wanted to avoid teams having multiple jerseys of the same color, so the Bucs' current black-on-black alternate is replaced with a new early-mid ‘70s pullover style home alt. - I simplified the design of the road alt by dropping the strokes around the “P” and numbers. - The City Connect uses the scrapped "Steel City" wordmark and anthracite color suggested by @GriffinM6. Austin | Tarleton | Utah Tech | West Georgia (2024) When I did the 1972 Project, I hadn't intended to go back and do anything like it again. I hand drew 131 football uniforms for 130 FBS teams (and a stray FCS team) and I wasn't even completely done with the drawing phase when I started posting teams in March 2018. Flash forward almost 3 years later and I had wrapped on the project. 130+1 teams, four sports, and a website allowing you to see football uniform combos. It was great. It was a massive accomplishment. And just 219 days later, the cycle was starting over again. But that was good. I couldn't control realignment and teams moving up. I missed on 4 teams that are moving up so now they get their chance. Rules are the same, but for those that are new to the arena: Nike is control of college sports aesthetics, much to probably some dismay from some corners of the world. In addition, every team in this universe also has a varsity level football, hockey, baseball and basketball teams. At the FCS level, this really means forming or potentially reviving unique looks for everyone and especially putting some catalog looks to pasture. Also something that is a little more unique to the FCS level that we didn't really have to worry about with the FBS teams: football teams will be given their football conference patches, but other sports teams in non-football conferences will be given those conference patches, i.e. NDSU playing football in the Missouri Valley but other sports playing in The Summit League. Plus in the downtime there were some improvements made to the templates, ways to see more options for socks and cleats at once and those sort of things. Anyways, let's pick up where we left off shall we? The Vandals were the last team in the original list of teams and they were there only because they were an FBS team when the light bulb first went off. And if you remember, they were still wearing old gold at that point. Well 4 years is a long time in the life span of a uniform or branding set. Now the Vandals have gone back to their vibrant Pride Gold. They also have slowly rolled out new uniforms based on the recent updates and haven't quite gotten them all out yet but I had some changes I wanted to make. Football - So football returns to their iconic look, black with athletic gold. Their new away uniforms utilize the Steelers stripe which has some historical precedence for the Vandals but I wasn't intent on making them complete Steelers clones. For the black uniforms, the stripes simply flip the black and white. Also a big addition to all the uniforms is a number font that gets close to the wordmarks but isn't an exact match. For the helmet options, a couple different gold, Vandals arch and the I block logo. Black helmet also sees the I block. I had pointed out in the FBS thread that Idaho suffers from a "Colorado Complex", having their official school colors be silver and gold, which don't always mesh well. But with the new gold, I felt that it could work this time, and the silver alternates swap out the Steelers stripe for a triple stripe, based on the Ken Hobart era uniforms. The alternate uniform would be initially paired with the black helmet with the Joe Vandal mascot logo on the sides. (Also those black helmets represent two different helmets. There would also be an option for white pants, they're just not pictured.) Hockey - I have said enough negative things about this hockey club so I'll spare you all that diatribe again. The Vandals hockey team mixes black, silver and gold and they do it pretty well but I wanted to get away from that and save silver for the alternate. So with that, the Steelers stripes come over to the sleeves. I retired their college wordmark + number treatment and replaced it with the I-Block logo. I did briefly consider a gold helmet for hockey, but I wasn't a fan in the end, so just black helmets. The silver uniforms for the non-football sports work into a fauxback sort of vibe. The college wordmark treatment returns, just with Joe Vandal under it instead of a player number, and the triple stripe swaps in for the Steeler stripes. Baseball - Boise State and Idaho both dropped their baseball programs in 1980 and they became club programs. Unfortunately for their varsity team's return, the club team doesn't offer too much to the aesthetic. 3 options for head gear: all black + I-Block, gold/black with the I+Block, and black/gold with Joe Vandal. Smaller stripes on the sleeves on V-neck uniforms. With the return to the classic gold color, it felt right for these uniforms. Alternate goes silver like the rest, stripes flip to the triple stripe. Black and gold sock options for the white and black uniforms, just black for the alternate. Basketball - Where basketball uniforms can be a little more expressive than other sports uniforms, that's not the case here. Simpler solid stripes around the neck and arm holes, main stripe down the sides of the jerseys. Contrasting waistbands, I-Block on the front, with the full stripe on the bottoms of the shorts, logo on the sides of the shorts. The alternate deviates ever so slightly from the others, using the wordmark from the 1981-82 team that won the Big Sky and lost just 3 games that season, but that's the only real deviation. The triple stripes make their way back and so does Joe Vandal. Some of you may remember I had a website where you could pick and make your own combos. I don plan on keeping that going, but it is in need of some serious help so updates might be a little slower there. But let's have some fun with it! And besides, the second movie in the trilogy is usually a better one than the first

Ah yes my first concepts on here. I knew it would come eventually… Edit: WE GOT A NAME WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE So here’s how these concepts are gonna go. There will be AI involved I remember the Last Time that AI was used in these boards and started a feisty debate. So it’s gonna be a Mix. Location, Name : That’s Part Me, and OOTP. But I had to change a lot of it around to make it make sense. Uniforms: That’s all me chief. In fact I cooked up these jerseys before I thought AI should even be involved. Created through OOTP Uniform Maker. The pictures will be taken through my phone. Colors: Part me, Part OOTP. If OOTP’s Color scheme for a team doesn’t make sense for the city, I change it, as you’ll see momentarily with the first team Stadium: A mix of everything. The name comes from me, AI gives the Lore and the Look, OOTP has the seating capacity and Mascot: That’s all AI. Lore and Look. Also how many concepts on here include the Stadium and Mascot? Logos: Part Me, Part AI. If some AI Logos are good from the Jump, they stay, If there’s some messy text but Good Logo, or Vice versa, I cut out the bad parts. If it’s a bad logo, regenerate. Anyways let’s get into it! TEAM 1: ATLANTA AVIATORS Ah good letter sync! LOGO: This is a sort of a Mashup logo of a Decent looking plane with no text and a really good Atlanta text but it had a trash plane . The Colors and name are inspired by the Local Delta Airlines and this was one of the color schemes that I had to switch around as OOTP had an odd Teal Black Mixture with their Aviators logo… STADIUM : DELTA STADIUM MASCOT: HERBY (ignore the Braves Cap) Note: The Logos and Uniforms just ain’t gonna match up. But the uniform Herb’s wearing is the closest to one of my uniforms, so it stays Jerseys: Note about the Jerseys real quick, the OOTP Uniform Maker Number Fonts don’t work so well, so I have to use some historical fonts from another mod I downloaded. HOME: AWAY: PEACH NIGHT: Atlanta, Delta, Peaches, these Colors and combos are pretty self explanatory.

Here is the full set of uniforms for Texas A&M this season. I'm not sure why the Adidas and SEC patch placements aren't consistent. I would think the red, white, blue themed uniform will be for just a single game. I would prefer a single throwback option and there is no need for a cream AND pinstripe Aggies script uniform. 8 uniforms is way too many Here is last year's full uniform options

While I'm pretty happy with how the Cubs City Connect uniforms turned out given how poorly the initial jersey leak was received, I still think it would have been interesting had the team gone with a solid green design to mimic the famous ivy on Wrigley's outfield walls. Let me know what you think!

While this isn’t quite that, it’s easily the closest I’ve come (full uniform sets for all 30 teams). With that in mind, I hope you enjoy what I’ve cooked up. The premise is this: What if every MLB team had kept more or less the same uniform they were wearing when they first came into the league, bending to current trends and sensibilities only when absolutely necessary, essentially freezing them in time? What would a league that has been around since the mid-1800s and seen expansion and relocation spanning over 150 years look like today? Well, wonder no further. I'll be posting teams in a totally random order, alternating between AL and NL clubs, starting today with the: CALIFORNIA ANGELS (est. 1961) HOME: ROAD: ALT: Notes: - Even though the Halos originally went by the name “Los Angeles Angels,” I chose the “California” moniker to make use of that excellent “CA” monogram from 1965. Plus, there’s the whole fact that Anaheim isn’t actually in Los Angeles. - Inspired by the Halos’ City Connect unis, I decided to eliminate outlines altogether and segregate the red and navy while going with cream over clean white for the home set. - I worked up a new “CALIFORNIA” wordmark in the style of the “ANGELS” wordmark and cap logo and also found matching numbers. - The alt would ideally be worn only at home, as the cream would probably clash with the gray pants. When I was in my early teens, my parents bought me NCAA Football 98 for the computer. I really enjoyed the game, and it was very well-designed for the most part: 100+ schools; full-season play with rankings, major bowl games, and major awards; school fight songs; decent playbooks; something approximating logos on the helmets. It was a very good game for the late 1990s---not as good as the Football Pro series overall, but distinctly collegiate and lots of fun. Anyway, despite the overall quality, there were two details that I have since learned were wrong. One, LSU by default wears yellow jerseys over white pants at home in that game. Two, Missouri's colors are green and gold in the game instead of black and gold. (Come to think of it, I think the latter was also the case in that college hoops game for the Super Nintendo even earlier.) I was wondering: have you guys and gals noticed any similar errors in other games? (Incidentally, Football Pro 98 has the Eagles wearing kelly-green-and-gray even though they were in their second season with their current and inferior color scheme.) -
Loosely inspired by my recently competed series, I wanted to imagine an alternate history in which Major League Baseball found a foothold out West and then expanded east, rather than the other way around. What would it have looked like the Dodgers and Giants departed California to give the NL two present-day New York teams? Or if the A’s started out in Oakland and ultimately wound up in Philly? My main prompt here was to depict what current-day teams who relocated in the second half of the 20th century would have looked like in the dead-ball era, and visa versa. We'll start things off today with... What if the Los Angeles Dodgers moved to Brooklyn? LOS ANGELES DODGERS (1914) HOME: ROAD: Notes: - The L.A. Dodgers are based on Brooklyn’s 1914 look, which featured pinstripes and a Tuscan "B" on the breast of the home jersey. - The road set features a vertical “LOS ANGELES” wordmark down a solid-colored placket. BROOKLYN DODGERS (2024) HOME: ROAD: HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - The modern-day Brooklyn Bums are essentially the Dodgers meet the Mets (specifically, the late '90s Mets, sans black), with a royal blue and orange color scheme based on the New York City flag. - I went with an arched block "BROOKYLN" wordmark, as the modern-day New York Giants will be using a script for their road jersey. I've had the rebrand bug lately so I decided to take a stab at one of the lamest brands in the majors right now. Immediately dropped the Los Angeles name and went back to Anaheim for the city name. It's just... better. The A halo is quite strong already so I kept that piece of the design. The one major-ish change I made to the lettering was opting for a cleaner font that maintained the vibe of the current set but felt a little less Texas-y. The wings from the short-lived Disney-era logo return in a much cleaner way. I always liked the idea of the wings, just never felt it was executed right with that iteration of the brand (also the bats were so corny). The diamond outline behind it is a callback to this logo, which I quite liked and wish they still used a bit more. Among the secondary marks is the A with the California outline behind it, a reference to this era of the Angels. The gold halo completes the retro look. As for the wordmarks, nothing too drastic. A change in the lettering, as previously mentioned, with an Anaheim option finally back in the rotation. Here's how the marks look on the Angels' uniform set, with some small tweaks here and there. I brought back the two-colour cap design to separate themselves from the other red-hat-wearing teams in the major leagues. The fourth option is just a fun throwback I tossed together, inspired by their City uniform from this past season. Let me know what you think! I haven't done a rebrand in a minute, felt good to get the blood flowing again.

Ever since the Chicago White Sox hired the Kansas City Royals’ former bench coach as manager, promoted a former Royal to GM, filled out their front office with other former Royals and began amassing ex-Royal players all within the past few months, it’s become a joke amongst Sox fans that our team seems determined to reshape itself into the Royals for, uh, some reason. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun/funny to imagine what a mashup up the two teams would look like: ROYALS LOGO: ROYALS HOME: ROYALS ROAD: HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - A royal shade of gold replaces silver on the South Siders’ uniforms to produce a look similar to the one used by the Charlotte Knights, Chicago’s Triple-A team. - The road uniforms feature a new “Chicago” script in the same style as KC’s “Royals” wordmark. - The crown in the shield logo replaces the four circles with six-pointed stars as a nod to the Chicago flag. Much as I disapprove of what the Sox have been doing, at least it inspired a fun creative exercise. C&C appreciated!

I'm a bit footballed-out at the moment, so I thought I'd try my hand at my real sports passion of Major League Baseball. Plan is to try for 1-2 sets per week, with the goal of finishing by the end of the year. Teams will be organized by how MLB is currently structured (though I'll probably make an exception for Oakland, who are all but guaranteed to move to Las Vegas). Each team will have at a minimum a Home, Road, Alternate, and Throwback Uniform. Most teams will probably have at least four sets. There will be no arbitrary limiting factors (*cough cough* NIKE ) although I'll probably cap the number of different designs for each team at six. Anything more than that is a thread in itself. I also won't make changes just for the sake of making changes; if a team already has a great look, I'll probably just make small tweaks or create some new alternate jerseys instead. Big thanks to @MJD7 for letting me use his template. I just modified it slightly for my preferences for this thread. HELLO EVERYONE! This is part 3 of my ongoing Alternate Asian Leagues series which is concurrent with part 1 (Pro Liga India) and part 2 (Indian Pro Basketball). We finally aren't doing an Indian league, fully at least. You see, back in 2022 there was an announcement of a United International Baseball League. This eventually became Baseball United which is a baseball league trying to cover both the MENA and South Asian regions (so India is partially here). For those reading this, I would appreciate it if anyone would try and watch the exhibition games in November 2023 and the first season in 2024. But back to the concepts. I have taken over as the god of an alternate 2050 running these Asian leagues and thus I rebranded and expanded BASEBALL UNITED. The format of the league will be: 16 teams Divided into Middle East and South Asia divisions. Further divided into Arabian League, Gulf League, Indian League, and Subcontinental League. So 4 leagues of 4 teams. Also because I like the flags of NPB, I have made Flags along with the logos for the 4 leagues. And here are the variations of the main logo for each team and their color schemes. The previously announced teams of Dubai Wolves, Mumbai Cobras, Abu Dhabi Falcons and Karachi Monarchs will be in this, which you can recognise by color scheme. Inspired by Ebbets Field Flannels' new line of vintage baseball sweaters, I wanted to close out 2022 with a fun little series that brings those designs into the modern day. I added a Nike swoosh to the front of the sweaters to reinforce that these are not just throwbacks, but modern updates. I should also mention that I'll also only be doing teams who were actually around in the 1920s-30 (when this style of sweaters was still being worn). Big thanks to @Victormrey for helping me out with the long-sleeved sweater template. Starting off with a combination AL & NL West, all of whose teams have since relocated to other cites: (OAKLAND) A's: A green and gold design with double breasted elephants inspired by these Philadelphia A's sweaters. (LOS ANGELES) DODGERS: This design is based on this Brooklyn Robins' sweater, with the Dodgers' "LA" replacing Brooklyn's block "B." (SAN FRANCISCOS) GIANTS: San Francisco's look is actually a combination of two designs: this earlier one which features contrasting pockets, and this later one which is primarily blue with red trim (or in this case, black with orange). Hi everyone, After completing my MLB x Negro League series a while back, I decided to put together a batch of concepts reimagining another defunct baseball league from the earliest 20th century: the Federal League, AKA the "third major league," which lasted from 1913-15. First up are the Cleveland Green Sox: GREEN SOX HOME: GREEN SOX ROAD: GREEN SOX HOME ALT: GREEN SOX ROAD ALT: Notes: - The script "C" is the Cleveland Naps' 1909 primary logo, which comes fairly close to the Green Sox logo. - I worked up a new "Green Sox" script to go with the cap logo while making use of the Guardians' current numbers and road wordmark. - My favorite detail here is the flying sock sleeve logo, which features the wings from the Guardian statues' helmets. In a parallel universe, the United Baseball Association (UBA) began play in 1921 and is currently in the 2019 season. The UBA was established with 16 teams, but has since doubled to 32 teams split across two leagues, the Continental and Federal Leagues. Each league has four divisions, with four teams in each. Each division winner makes the playoffs for a total of eight playoff teams and they compete for the Maynard Trophy, which is named after a former commissioner. The last significant realignment/expansion came in the 1996-97 offseason. I’ve simulated out the league in OOTP 19 to build a history from which I will create concepts. Unless otherwise mentioned, all my locations and team names are set. I’ll slowly release the division alignments as I post team concepts. I personally like the classic, traditional feel that MLB logos and uniforms have. My goal has been to create concepts that would fit into the MLB looks-wise. To start off, each team will have four uniforms at most. At least one white home, one gray away, and then an alternate or two if I so choose. I may make some throwbacks at some point too, but I’m trying to avoid getting carried away and never completing this because I bit off more than I can chew. These are the first concepts I’ve posted here, though I’ve lurked here for awhile. I can’t afford the monthly cost for the Adobe package, so instead I pounced on a recent Affinity Designer sale and have been working on learning the program. I’ve seen several great concepts and series here, and I’ve been specifically inspired by dsaline97’s United States Baseball League, especially given how detailed the concepts and backstories were. I’m using rsaline’s amazing template for my concepts, so thank you for posting that for others to use. Anyways, now that I’ve made you read this far, here’s the league logo for the United Baseball Association, of which the influence of the MLB logo is clear. It's not terribly original. Points to you if you can guess who the pitcher is. I wanted something simple for the league logo, so that I could quickly move onto the actual teams. Perhaps I’ll revisit this later. The first team will be posted immediately after this, as we head to the Empire State for the first concept. A while back, I was inspired to create a series of MLB x Negro League mashup designs. Unlike @Carolingian Steamroller's fantastic Negro League Teams in the Present Day project, which sought to imagine what NLB teams would like today had they been absorbed into MLB, this series seeks to combine Negro League identities with the aesthetics of the Major League teams with whom they shared (or would eventually share) a city. Without further ado, here are the Miami Giants: MIAMI GIANTS HOME: MIAMI GIANTS ROAD: MIAMI GIANTS HOME ALT: MIAMI GIANTS ROAD ALT: Notes: - My Giants design is heavily influenced by the 1996-99 Florida Marlins, with ocean blue replacing teal and pink/magenta replacing silver. - While the actual Miami Giants allegedly wore black, blue and red, I took a little artistic license and went with a more Miami Vice-centric color scheme. - The scripts come from the Miami Giants fauxback jersey offered by Ebbets Field Flannels. Hey y’all! It’s good to be back! Been busy on some new concepts lately and I wanted to share! So far I have 10 teams finished, and hopefully I can finish the entire league. For now though I’m just gonna toss around some random teams I have done and let you guys take a look. As always, let me know what you like or don’t like and let’s have some fun discussing baseball uniforms! The first team I wanna share with you is the CLEVELAND GUARDIANS! * They switch from Red/Navy to Red/Black * Uniform piping based on historic 1940s Cleveland Indians piping * Keeps the updated fonts/logos adding a new cap option * both alternate tops can be worn with either home white or road grey pants Like I said, a handful of other teams are already done, so I will be posting them soon too! With the enormous popularity of the Rays' and Marlins' (and Diamondbacks', until they were sadly retired prior to this season) '90s throwbacks, I was inspired to experiment with tweaking those early uniforms so that they could work in 2023 not just as alternates, but as full-time looks. My theory is that enough time has passed since the early-late '90s that people have nostalgia for those unis that they might not have had, say, ten or twelve years ago. Let Jon Hamm explain it to you better than I can: With that said, first up are the Rays! RAYS HOME: RAYS ROAD: RAYS HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - I'd argue those original Devil Rays uniforms are the best the team ever looked, largely because most of what they've worn in the decades since has been somewhat, shall we say, bland. However, that's not to say those original Devil Rays uniforms were perfect, which I'll get into below. - Since I didn't want to just revert to the team's original identity, I decided to retain the "Rays" moniker, keeping in mind that they've now been called the "Rays" longer than they were ever the Devil Rays. The team's 1998-2000 batting practice jerseys give us an idea of what the team would've looked like had they been called the "Rays" all along. - The Rays' current throwbacks are really more like "fauxbacks." Since the cap was only seldomly worn between 1998-2000, I've restored the original "TB" cap logo and replaced black throughout the uniforms not with navy but with dark purple from the team's original primary logo. - I went all-in on the gradient, applying it to the back numbers, socks, sleeves (inspired by this prototype from 1997) and pants. Newly added solid-colored front numbers help offset the "gimmickiness" of the wordmark's gradient. - For the road, I've never liked any of the "Tampa Bay" wordmarks the Rays have used, and rather than just slap the "Rays" wordmark on every jersey in the rotation (which is exactly what the team did up until about a year or so ago) I used the cap "TB," similar to these '80s-early '90s Giants road jerseys. I also went with more traditional, non-gradient piping. - The alt is probably my favorite of the set, as the wordmark really pops against the dark purple of the jersey. C&C appreciated! The Marlins or Diamondbacks will be up next.

The Colorado Rockies are turning 30 this year, and, despite having introduced some uniform variations throughout this three decades, their core style (construction, wordmarks, logos, etc.) has remained basically the same. Therefore, I've decided to create a new 4-uniform set from scratch. The main change comes with the colours: I swapped their traditional purple shade for a lighter and paler one, based on the colour of the Blue Columbine, Colorado's State flower. As secondary colour I changed the black for a dark and deep purple. Regarding the wordmarks, I found a font called Umberland Slab, which I think offers a nice evolution while keeping the team's essence. The 4 jerseys feature the scripts in the shape of an arch-top, while the cap features the (sort of) interlocked "CR" initials. For the jerseys I tried to keep what makes the Rockies stand out: the purple pinstripes, the sleeve and placket piping, and the sleeveless alts: C&C are more than welcome!

Anaheim Rally Monkeys For those who do me the honor of following along, keep in mind that not all 30 clubs will be represented, as a few teams' mascots are inspired by their team itself (Clark the Cub, Bernie Brewer, Mr. Met, etc.) while some teams are without mascot altogether (Yankees, Dodgers, Angels). I'm really proud of this series and had a lot of fun working on it. We'll start today with the Pittsburgh Parrots: PARROTS HOME: PARROTS ROAD: PARROTS HOME ALT: PARROTS HOME/ROAD ALT: Notes: - Pittsburgh's mascot the past 40+ seasons has been the Pirate Parrot, with parrots often depicted perched on pirates' shoulders - A lime-like parrot green becomes the team's primary color, with black shifting to more of a trim/tertiary color - I worked up a "Parrots" wordmark in the MLB Pirates font - A cartoony rendering of the Pirate Parrot occupies the jerseys' left sleeve Feedback is welcome! Ever since the WBC, I've been stuck with an itch to do some baseball designs. The main issue - I haven't done any baseball designs before, so I'm not super sure on what I'm doing. Regardless, armed with a template from @raysox (thanks man!) and many years of soccer design under my belt, I've decided to give it a shot! This won't be a regular series or anything fancy like that - ideas will be posted whenever the muse strikes me, whether that be next week or next year. Also, please note - this is literally the first full baseball concept I've ever done! I'm still figuring out the template and what looks right, so feedback is greatly appreciated. To start: South Korea! What you may immediately notice are the colors and the wordmark. Korea's past looks have generally used the same warmer shade of blue and white, with the occasional red as an accent. In this year's edition of the WBC, however, they opted for navy instead of that blue, which makes them look a little too much like Japan for my liking. So we'll let Japan claim navy and do something else for Korea. I wanted to stay away from the blue/red/white that a lot of countries end up using in baseball, so I found something that comes off as more unique - double blue! The main blue is darker than the previous warmer blue, while the addition of powder blue separates them from the herd (think Royals or Blue Jays). As for the wordmark, don't get me wrong - I love their very fun and handwritten current script and cap logo. But I wanted something new, so here we are! At its core, the new wordmark is very simple - add a rounded outline to Baumans to give it more weight, and add the Taegeuk to the center of the O for that unique touch. Simple but effective! The uniforms aren't the most complicated design in the world, but it still stands out. The main design component is the triple stripe cuff, taken from the four trigrams on the South Korean flag. My original plan was to actually incorporate the trigrams into the striping, but trust me, it looked rough. A last-minute change brought powder blue between the lines to add color to the home uniform. I also put the triple stripe down the side of the pants and on top of the socks. Home is standard white, while road uses powder blue (because if you have powder blue in your color scheme why wouldn't you use it as your road jersey?). The cap logo is a modified version of the K from the wordmark with an added Taeguk for flavor. This pairs with a darker blue cap and powder blue bill/button. For the third, I wanted to do something different because I couldn't figure out how to make the wordmark look good on the darker blue. I decided to take on the challenge of taking the Korean name of South Korea (한국) and turning it into a monogram that would make sense on a baseball uniform. I ended up with something that came close to the font I was using, and I staggered the characters to make it appear more symmetrical. This pairs with an all-blue hat with the white monogram, and I could see this cap being used as an alternate for the home uniform. For numbers and name on back, I decided to keep the same font as everything else for consistency's sake, and I switched up the name order to be more like the proper Korean style than what they currently use on uniforms. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my first attempt at baseball design! It's a little simple overall, but I'm still learning the ropes, and South Korea feels like a team that I could actually see running something more minimalistic. As always, C&C welcome!

We’re just one month away from the 2023 World Baseball Classic! After 6 years without the main international baseball event, it’s time to give the 20 teams a fresh new look. It’s not a secret that a lot of the designs used by baseball national teams are, at least, questionable: from every team wearing the same base design in past editions, to brands pushing the boundaries a bit too far with funky ideas. Therefore, I’ve tried to imagine what would Nike do if they were responsible for designing the WBC ’23 jerseys. I’ll be using @AusGiant template adapted to MS Paint, creating also some retro and sleeveless variants. Howdy y'all! I'm back with another little concept, after coming up with this idea that's so obvious it's stupid. But, the world needs more silly names! Austin is famous for it's urban bat population, and well, baseball has bats too. If you've seen my concepts before, you know I'm big into mid-century, very simple designs, so that's what I've done here for the Bats. (sidenote: curse the selfish Batman for ruining bat icons for everyone else). I went with purple for several reasons. It fits the night/bat theme very well, there's a dearth of it in pro sports, the city is known for it's "violet crown" sunsets, and it would round out Austin sports teams' use of secondary colors (Longhorns - orange, Austin FC - green), adding to it's secondary/weird feel! The tuscan font fits really well I think, using the same circular cutout shapes as a bats wings, and hitting the southern/Texas aesthetic. And finally, for the alternate jersey (City edition?), we went with a violet crown theme that could hopefully make for some fun and good looking rivalry matchups with Houston and their famous sunset jersey. Hey all! Last night I watched UCONN destroy San Diego State in some basketball and created a set of uniforms and logos for my Yahoo fantasy baseball team - the Brandywine Clowns! Threw in some of my absolute favorite uniform details for these, such as an interlocking “BC” logo (huge fan of interlocked logos), away font from my favorite MLB team (the Cincinnati Reds), and the color scheme from my old high school baseball team.
