Illinois is showing an old picture of their helmet in the upper right, as the stripes are still visible.  I think they should have kept them.

They should have matched the pant striping to the helmet striping by adding the white middle stripe. I'll never understand why is wasn't that way from the beginning of their latest update.

Mizzou is going black/black/gold with the oversized helmet decals tomorrow against South Carolina:

Looks like the design of the black jerseys and gold pants both stayed the same with the switch to the Vapor Untouchable template.

South Carolina going Garnet lids / white jersey / white pants at Mizzou

Have they gone garnet/white/black yet since the new helmets were unveiled last year?  Garnet/white/black would be a good "throwback" to the 90s.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Boooo! Just assume I'm booing for every Arizona combo this year since they did a bad job.

I really want to see what those Mizzou helmets would look like if they didn't remove the white from the logo. The all yellow version just isn't all that great to me.

Some nice new additions to Autzen for tomorrow's game:

The logo will appear on both 25 yard lines, opposite of the Pac-12 logos.

In addition to the duck stomping out cancer logo appearing on the outside of the stadium and on the 25 yard lines, the Ducks replaced the second "O" in the end zone wordmarks with the yellow ribbon:

This confuses me. Is the grass raised where the O is?

Often times the logos, endzone letters, yard markers, etc. on turf fields are very slightly raised because they're essentially cut outs from different colored turf. I haven't been on Oregon's field for a couple years now, but I believe there is a slight raised effect, yes.

With the way FieldTurf fields are typically done, the areas for lettering and logos are cut out and differently colored "patches" are put in, which can sometimes result in some slightly raised areas.  I remember seeing this when Oregon was installing their new turf a year or so ago.

What prompted this question? The different color shades of the ribbon are due to the fact that part of the ribbon is painted over a yellow "O", and part is painted over the dark green turf.. There shouldn't be  much if any raised effect of the turf letters.. The space where they're sewn or glued in is usually cut out of the turf below.. It should only appear as a seam of any sort (raised, gap, or otherwise) for about a month after installation until the infill properly settles..
