I don't care who wins the NLCS. Not watching the World Series. I'm Boston'd out at this point.

What do you mean you're Boston'd out? The Sox haven't been to the WS in 5 years.

I'm going by USA Today.  There's a few sources that vary in regards to who's the top payroll but USA Today is the only one I've seen that cites where they got their information.

Doesn't matter, though.  Red Sox fans are aware that the team throws around money and certainly aware they've made some bad moves.  You're acting like the Giants are somehow different when they're paying Mark Melancon $20 million a year.

Would you please stop trying to make sense of my sports fan psycho babble? It’s making everyone look bad, bro.

Doubt it. You’ll be back here with your rhetoric. Who are you kidding?

I'm not convinced he's watched a single Red Sox game this year.

I've got a dribbble, check it out if you like my stuff; alternatively, if you hate my stuff, send it to your enemies to punish their insolence!

He's tired of the Red Sox juggernaut he's spent the past few months calling October chokers but whose dominance is also, somehow, inevitable.

By Boston'd out, I mean the other major teams. It is not out of the realm of possibility that all 4 Boston teams can play for and/or win their league's titles.

I'm starting to get a little burned out with Boston this, Boston that, all these teams becoming contenders at the same time.

wHy MY sOuL HuRT? Oh right, Bobby Evans really didn't have much of a choice for all-star closers (Chapman? Really?) and made an expensive desperation move that didn't pay off. Ah well, I'm not allowed to complain for another decade or so.

I don't mind Boston in the World Series at all. I'm just happy Osuna is watching the World Series from the comfort of his couch. That was a scummy move to pick him up and I'm glad it didn't pay off. Besides, it was foretold:

Conspiritarding aside, I find it funny. Go not-Dodgers.

Folks, this is sports. The more you try to rationalize fandom the sillier it gets. There is no ethical baseball consumption under capitalism.

you can just say “I’m sick of the Red Sox” or “Boston is terrible” or “I’m jealous that Mookie is good looking and charming and has a better bowling handicap than me”, and those are all perfectly valid!

I think we’re all forgetting it’s about time the sports universe gave us another Boston title. We’ve had some pretty cool/new/deserving champions over the last few years, especially in baseball. Time for the Law of Averages to work its magic.

Let's hope the Two-Pennant-on-WS-Logo thing is still a weird and real thing.  '04, ;07, '13, and now '18 have all had 2 pennants in the logo and all of those times have had the Sox in the World Series.

I will say it's been an odd road to be on the receiving end of scathing hatred that used to be towards...well everyone else.

On a personal note though, it would be pretty awesome if the year I took my son to his first game also turned out to be the year that they won the Series as well! How's that for impacting memories!  Now if only they could do something about these start times so my 6-yr-old could actually WATCH these games.

I can't wait to see the Red Sox regress and miss the playoffs next year.

you spent the last 6 months saying you couldn't wait until they choked in the playoffs.

I disagree. They're still wildly over-stuffed. Their last 22 months have been better than my entire life. They've won a Super Bowl, lost another, and now they're in a world series they have a good shot at winning. Not to mention the Celtics and Bruins being solid. The law of averages would state that another 4 team place like Minnesota or Phoenix would be more due.

It's funny that Boston has become the cradle of Everything Wrong With America to a large swath of the internet just because Dave Portnoy and Bill Simmons are irritating.

That's just the way it goes in sports. Back in the 80s, I'm sure people got sick of LA. Two titles for the Dodgers, multiple titles for the Lakers, the Raiders won a Super Bowl, the Lakers and Dodgers even won titles in the same year. Then it was mostly a dry spell in the 90s, before many of the LA teams became pretty decent again in the late 00s. Let's not forget before 2001, Boston (outside of the Celtics) was known for being unable to win when it mattered.

Eventually Tom Brady will retire, eventually the Red Sox will get beaten in a series, it's all inevitable. I'm not a huge Boston fan, but hey, take advantage of these things while you can.

Very fitting, especially when you shift the apostrophe.

And yes, I have sour grapes from last season, but especially due to racist Yuli Gurriel and all of his enablers.

Have you been to Boston? It is the literal worst.

Not compared to basically anything below the Mason Dixon, but the literal worst among northeast corridor major cities.

I've only had layovers at Logan, but I will say that I have never seen more adults in pajamas after 9 a.m. than I have there. Everyone looks like crap and all the girls are overtly rude to their boyfriends. I'd probably like the actual city well enough, it just seems like Chicago with worse roads and worse food.

You can literally say this about any city. Every city in America has history of horrifying racism. Boston's main issue is that its racists are the loudest :censored:s on the planet, unlike say, the Midwest which hides its horrifying racism through pretend niceness.

That's what happens when it snows 8 months of the year.
