TheOldRoman
Ah, such naivety. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for a marketer to turn a memorial into an opportunity to move more gear. Special edition jerseys with RIP SO-AND-SO inside the collar, special ring-of-honor tribute inscriptions when a team honors someone, etc. It wouldn't be at all beyond possibility for a team to wear 16 different jerseys a year. Keep in mind I don't think that would actually happen, but putting stuff inside the collar at least opens the door for teams to have different jerseys without actually having different jerseys.Okay, but as he said, jerseys with memorial patches haven't been mass sold to this point. And if manufacturers didn't think fans would buy new jerseys just to have the patch on the chest, why would they buy new jerseys just to have a tiny, subtle catch phrase inside the collar where people don't see it?The way I see it (and I'm not a collector - hell, I don't even buy jerseys) a patch is an add on and doesn't really make it a different jersey. I can buy a patch and sew it on an existing jersey, or just have a patch collection separate from my jersey collection.Okay, I thought you were talking about merchandise in general and not appealing to collectors. It might help the collectors' market, but I don't think changing collar slogans would help the much wider-spread merchandise market.
DeFrank
I'd be really surprised if those tiny interior slogans were enough to get even the most serious jersey collectors interested in buying multiple versions. But what if they write them in GOLD!!!!!!! concepts: washington football (2017) ... nfl (2013) ... yikes potd 10/20/12 origin story

Hell, I'm not even saying that the collectors are going to spring for it (though it seems like there are people who want one of everything their team wears) but I'm just saying that one of the reasons for it could be just to give teams more on-field things to sell without changing up their look. infrared41
How about some real concrete information? Oh hey, I've got some...At a "chalk talk" tonight with Redskins GM Bruce Allen, the Redskins 80th Anniversary was brought up. It was briefly mentioned by the GM that the Redskins will have the words "Team Effort Tradition" on the inside collar of each jersey in coordination with Nike taking over. He said all teams will have their own motto. So, there we go. Thought I'd share...Discuss.And every single "motto" they come up with will be equally as stupid. This is the NFL. That kind of thing is OK on an Oregon jersey. On an NFL jersey it's silly (and I'd imagine a tad embarrassing.) Does this mean that if a Redskins players leaves as a free agent, he didn't really believe in "Team Effort Tradition?" The players are pretty much mercenaries. Spare us the facade of trying to make it seem like it's anything other than professional football played by professional players who go to the highest bidder. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a single problem with players being mercenaries and selling their services to who will pay them the most. I just don't want Nike and the NFL trying to sell me a concept of "team" that really doesn't exist.Red, you and I usually see eye to eye on most things, but in this instance, I have the urge to say "Lighten up, Frances." No one really expects the players to suddenly feel more strongly about the team because there is a slogan printed inside the collar. However, that doesn't mean this couldn't work well for some teams.Agreed. It came across a lot more harshly than I intended it to.

I have no idea when gameday equipment starts to arrive but I'm assuming that we're still a few months out for the full blown shipments to arrive. April 1 is the official date so there's a chance you could start to see photos a few weeks earlier but there's no guarantee.

Jezus_Ghoti
PFT is a blog that injects opinion into almost all of its posts. Not really a place where anyone should expect unbiased journalism. Frankly, it's probably good advice.
andrewharrington
Whether it's good or bad advice isn't the point. A news source shouldn't be telling people not to buy Reebok jerseys and to wait until the Nike ones come out to spend their money. To a news source, a jersey should be a jersey, regardless of who makes it. Crash
So I'm sure this has hit somewhere here, but I couldn't find it or figure out a better place for it. The NFL cleats for next year:Now, I don't care about the actual shoes, but if you look closely, and if that graphic is accurate, color-wise, then the Eagles and Seahawks are getting color tweaks. Of course, the vapor gloves show both teams in the 2011 colors. Then again, the Seahawks have confirmed a color change. So it means nothing, necessarily, but it's fuel for speculation. Those colours are way better than Denim and Lime green.Watch, the Seahawks will have something related to the 12th man on their collar. Also, maybe it's the graphic, but the gold on Minnesota and KC's shoes looks a lot darker than it normally is.. I noticed that when it came out on Nikes FB along with how much grey KC's had in it and Black Indy's had. #DTWD #GoJaguars

In other words, is the Titans' official cleat color now blue, and the Dolphins' official cleat color aqua/orange? oh ,my god ,i strong recommend you to have a visit on the website ,or if i'm the president ,i would have an barceque with the anthor of the articel .
