Is is allowed for the Seahawks to change the white and grey pants stripe so it's neon/electric green or do they have to wait three more years?

Nope. Minor changes to uniforms have been allowed. It's only the major overhauls that require the waiting period

unless you buy a franchise then you only have to wait a year

The NFL isn't strict about changes to the pants because they don't sell them. They don't have to worry about getting stuck with out of date merchandise.

If Seattle gets there, would like to see them in the all Wolf-Grey. 3-0 so far in them.

well they can't, they can only wear their primaries in the playoffs, so we are 90% sure they will wear their away white jerseys unless the Patriots/Broncos decide to wear their away jerseys for no reason what so ever.

Ok so would it really be that difficult for Seattle to wear all grey if they make the Super Bowl? I know that in the playoffs teams have to stick to one particular set once they wear it (like the Chargers in powder blue a few seasons ago), but Seattle has yet to wear their road sets. Couldn't they just designate their grey uniforms as their road set because they haven't worn them yet? I think that Seattle in all grey vs the Broncos in Navy/Orange/White would look fantastic. It would be very unique for a Super Bowl without looking that jarringly different.

Of course, I'd MUCH rather see the Niners there, but I could see them finding away around the strict playoff uniform set rule for that game for the simple fact that they have yet to wear a road jersey in the playoffs. And remember, we saw an odd anomaly with the Seahawks the last time they made the Super Bowl (as Pittsburgh chose to wear their white jerseys) so you never know.

It's because they played in and designated it their road set in the regular season, it doesn't restart in the playoffs like the nhl where you are guaranteed a road game.

I say this every year, but I miss the system of painting the helmets in the endzones.

Redskins still do it

and it looks good, but that wasn't what I was talking about.

I was talking specifically about Super Bowl endzones where the helmets were profile (Not 3/4 like the Redskins), the helmet on the left was the team's official helmet graphic and the helmet on the right had the team's logo replaced by the conference logo. They also used the team's contrasting color for the endzone base color so for example the Redskins and Steelers always had a yellow endzone, the Bengals' was black both times, the 49ers was red.

I miss it because it unified the game with previous years and it was just one of those parts of being in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl XXX was the last time they did it.

Not a fan of the helmets in the end zone. It resulted in teams using alternate colored backgrounds rather than the teams main color.

Not for any team that wears a helmet different than their jersey color, like Oak, SD, Den, NE, Mia, NYJ, Buf, Ind, Ten, Cin, Bal, Cle, GB, Det, NO, Car, Atl, TB, Dal, Ari, SF. So 21 of 32 would not have to use alternate color.

That still happens

I will concede that it would be cool if they painted each team's endzone to match the way they had their endzones at their home stadium.

I wouldn't like that because most teams don't have their endzones colored-in. I think there's something special about a fully colored endzone. However, I think it can get a little stale-looking if the endzone is always colored-in, such as with the Bengals and Chargers.

I always liked what Denver, Miami and (I think) SF did in the '90s - grass endzone (with wordmark) during the regular season, then painted background for the playoffs. It added to the "special" feeling of the playoffs.

Agreed. The colored endzones are always a little something that's special for the Super Bowl, especially since most teams don't have them painted at home. Pretty sure the 49ers painted their endzones once they got to the playoffs last year. And Miami painted their endzones at the end of this season once the college football season was over.

I wish Denver still did this... the orange background always looked great.... but hey, maybe it won't be long til we see orange endzones again. I'm thinking 2 1/2 weeks away in Metlife Should be sufficient!

Good point. Although Chargers have used yellow, and the Dolphins used orange once. I guess thats the fun of waiting to see what they come up with. A lot of us thought for sure the Saints would have had black.

For those of you who don't make it over to the concept section, I have thrown some pics together.
