When I thought all the accents were navy, I loved these. But if it's black, meh.

I still like the all black jersey though. And the whole Zero Dark Thursday theme.

If all of the black (including the alternate) were changed to navy, I'd like these. The fact that it's black kills it.

Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop!

Their Zero Dark theme makes me cringe on multiple levels:

Tar Heels Announce Zero Dark Thursday

Release: 04/13/2013

North Carolina will wear the all-black uniforms against Miami on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Kenan Stadium. Billed as "Zero Dark Thursday," the Tar Heels will face the Hurricanes on national television in just the second ESPN Thursday night home game in school history.

The all-black uniform on "Zero Dark Thursday" is the first installment of the new "Tar Pit Series," which will feature an alternate uniform or helmet for one game each year. This year's alternate uniform color has been taken from the black tar in the Tar Heel logo.

"Our kids are excited about the new uniforms," said head coach Larry Fedora. "They saw them for the first time Friday and they are fired up about wearing them this year. We wanted to design a uniform that connected our team to The Tar Pit, our name for the student section. Make no mistake, Carolina Blue and white will always be our traditional colors."

The fully integrated uniform system incorporates the latest in performance innovation where the athlete's baselayer works in concert with his entire uniform - true innovation from the inside out. Lightweight padding is integrated directly into the crucial "hit zones" in the baselayer. Innovations include integrated Flywire technology in the neckline for reduced weight and lockdown fit over pads. Additionally, increased sleeve articulation provides better range of motion and four-way stretch fabrication delivers a streamlined shrink-wrap fit. The design enables speed without compromise.

"I haven't had the chance to wear them in a game, but I'm excited about the new look and what Nike has done to enhance the feel of the uniform for players," said senior quarterback Bryn Renner.

Zero Dark Thursday?? hahaha

That's just retarded.

-sleeve swoop also worn by Oregon State. very generic and obviously something we are going to see more of

-that horrid, plain, pants stripe that wraps around the back has never looked good. it's so plain and uninspired, and why the flying :censored: did they need two different kinds that are so extremely similar?

For those unaware of where this "zero dark Thursday" thing came from, I'm fairly certain it's a play on "0dark:30", said as "zero dark thirty" (actually, its really only just O-dark thirty"). Anyway, that phrase is fairly standard military jargon to describe any time before sunrise.

Just thought I'dd add that piece into the equation.

the all black looks ok. Rest looks like a 1AA or D2 school cry for help....or something Columbia U or Rhode Island Rams would wear.... a nice Carolina Panthers upgrade

I am sore, wounded, but not slain

I will lay down and bleed a while

And then rise up to fight again

As some have also said, I liked these when in my head that was Navy blue, but now that it's black I can't stand them. Also those pants look stupid with that wrap around. Oh the difference a day makes in an opinion.

After a day, I actually like them a little more, although the pants wrap around is annoying and the striping is inconsistent throughout (helmet is wide, jersey is small, pants are extra wide) ;

Other than that, swap the black for navy and i'm fine with it

white/white/carolina blue looks really nice as does C.B/C.B/White

Switch the black to navy on all but the all-blacks and I'd actually consider it to be a decent set.

Stop retroactively adding black to the school colors. Arizona State and Ohio University, I'm looking at you again.

How is it BFBS if Black is now a part of the color scheme?

I just don't get some of you...

Wait...black is part of UNC's color scheme?

I just don't get you.

It is part of the football team's new identity, yes. If it wasn't on the normal uniforms and they had a black alternate then it would be BFBS, but, like it or not, it's a Tar Heel football color now

It's BFBS if they add black out of nowhere... even if (like ASU) they lamely claim that black is "now one of their colors."

I'll believe that black is an official color of UNC when the basketball team takes the floor in all black.

In other words, when hell freezes over.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Even they've had some wacky alternates. Remember those all silver ones a few years ago?

I've been a Carolina fan all my life. Never have I been so disappointed. It's just purely mind blowing that you could go from two different aesthetics, and go from one of the more favored traditional, beautiful looks, to this garbage.

Why the goofy "Nascar" numerals?

Why the added stupid cutouts in the numbers that are "MSU-ish" when the numerals have curved serifs?

Why the horrid thick helmet stripe?

Why the shoulder stripes that encase a portion of the uniform that doesn't have a logo or feature?

Why the toilet bowl pants stripes?

...and above all, why the @#% would you try and play off the "TAR" portion and add BLACK? BLACK? Are you f!@#%ing kidding me?

Ugh. /rant.

Just so disappointed. What it ultimately boils down to is, to my disappointment, Carolina jumping on the "Let's do something modern and flasy, it's for the recruits!" and being convinced that if they compromise, it'll bring kids to the school.

In one Saturday, they went from upper east side, to the trailer park by the river.

I know Nike wants to show off they super template but those are the worst striping for pants.

The different pants are just head scratching its like UNC asked Nike for 2 extra pant options & Nike came back with the same pants but ripped off a part of the striping.

Just a cheap looking uniform but we will all believe in the power of Nike & BFBS when the Tar Heels walk away with a NC after all of the recruits they will get.
