See Red
Wow the refs flagged Abddullah for praying, that could be a problem,Not really. It's a penalty to go to the ground to celebrate a score. I think the penalty had more to do with him sliding on his knees than anything else. It's a silly rule, though. DCarp1231
Watching NFL Live on ESPN and they projected the Raiders to go 0-16. Honestly I really don't have a problem with this, but I do hate to think and fear that they will select Marcus Mariota, Jamies Winston, or Todd Gurley with the #1 pick in the 2015 Draft and his career will be rough and possibly short at best...The Oakland Raiders: Where dreams go to die

STL_ArchMadness
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11614521/joseph-fauria-detroit-lions-says-injured-ankle-chasing-puppyWhat is it with NFL players and these bizarre ways to get injured?A few theories from me, the guy with no medical background:1. They're gigantic guys so their frames are just regular old bones and ligaments like yours and mine, but they have to carry far more weight so they're more susceptible to injury.2. They train their bodies to do a specific thing over and over and over again so when their bodies have to move in a different way it's not used to it and it breaks down.3. They're overtrained and this weird incident just happened to be the straw that broke the camel's back4. Cynically, they're on a bunch of PED's or they recently went off of a bunch of PED's and their bodies are reacting to the change5. Combination of all of these. Also, I have no idea. sad to say this also, but a lot of times players get hurt while partaking in illegal/frowned upon situations and it's easy for them to say this http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98633-2014-nfl-concept-expansion-series-dallas-cowboys/

I'm sure if you went around to any major company you'd probably hear the same strange accident stories from about the same amount of people. We just don't hear about it because we don't get a breaking news update every time Ted from accounting breaks his hip when he gets startled by his chihuahua and falls off his porch. dfwabel
I will not cross-post in the Anti-NFL thread, but here is why Goodell is going to probably keep his job.NFL and DirecTV agree to new 8 year deal for Sunday Ticket with expanded digital rights which are going to be 50% than the current contract. $1.5B per year for 8 years. We just don't hear about it because we don't get a breaking news update every time Ted from accounting breaks his hip when he gets startled by his chihuahua and falls off his porch.Crazy accidents happen all the time, but with pro athletes, I think it's more that they are making up crazy explanations to cover up the real cause of their injuries. It's not just that they're doing illegal stuff when getting injured. A large portion of it is that they're doing questionable physical things which may be not be allowed in their contract, or may otherwise jeopardize their employment. For instance, if you sprain your ankle tripping over your dog, no big deal. However, if you do so playing basketball during the season, then the team's got reason to be pissed at you. It's not just football, though. About ten years ago Jeff Kent "fell from his truck while washing it" and broke both his wrists. It later came out that he was actually doing wheelies on a motorcycle. At the time, Jeff Kent was a really good player, so his team just dealt with it. However, had be been an over-paid player with declining skills, they might have tried to terminate him without paying the rest of the money owed for him breaching the contract. Obviously, very little of NFL dollars are guaranteed, but they still have reason to not admit they injured themselves doing physical things. As to your point, if Ted in accouting breaks his leg skateboarding or something, he'll be able to do his job just as well with a cast on. Barring being in a full-body cast, such accidents won't stop one from doing a non-physical job. Also, those companies haven't invested millions into their accountants like with pro athletes. Unless he was on all fours, blindfolded and being lead on a leash by a prostitute when he hit his face on the doorknob. Maybe he wasn't lying. The_Admiral
I don't know what's wrong with "dwarf." What, people might assume they're merry? "Little person" just describes a person who is little. A six-year-old? That's probably a little person. The guy from Game of Thrones? Clearly, he's a person who is a dwarf. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I don't think little person is really that much better, but that's what I've absorbed as the acceptable. Anyway, out culture isn't super kind to little people, and I bristle (obviously) when I see things like "whether the PC term is." Just be decent and you'll be doing ok. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

All 4 of them? All five, if we include the Green Bay-Seattle game from Week 1. 20 points has been the closest game so far.For all the reasons that the NFL went with all divisional games in Week 17, those same reasons just aren't happening for these Thursday night games. Aside from Dallas-Chicago the week after Thanksgiving, these are all division games. (And the Bears and Cowboys will get a full week to prepare for their Thursday night game.)
