Nah, that'd make it too simple for them. Instead, we need year after year of blueballing, teasing the inevitable letdown.

I'm an optimist, I swear. Also, can someone please escort Justin Braun off the ice. Man is giving up chances like it's going out of style.

"And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday."

Thanks to these slogans, I just realized Jarome Iginla is a member of the Avalanche.

Why? This doesn't help the mantra of hockey players being dumb....

The Avs gave him 16 over 3 with a no-move and the 35+ rule. Iginla's not the dumb one here.

Weird move. It's not his fault the Senators aren't very good. Frankly, I'm surprised he had them doing as well as they were doing with so little talent.

He wasn't really helping the Sens anymore at this point, he was always juggling lines and disturbing team chemistry. He also stood by our deadweight players like Neil, Legwand and Greeening, while players that could actually inject something into the lineup like Pageau, Puempel and Prince are stuck in the minors.

We're not a playoff team right now, but Maclean still thought that those deadweight players (pretty much everyone on our bottom 6) would help us reach the playoffs, rather than thinking of how we could bring up our youth talent and start developing for the future.

Ottawa has a bright future if they can get the best from players like Zibanejad, Stone, Lazar, Hoffman, Paul, Puempel, Prince and a lot more sitting in the minors, but Paul Maclean really wasn't willing to give them a chance (Legwand and Neil were favoured on the PP over Zibanejad and Stone for just one example)

I'm not saying I'm happy to see Maclean go, but at this point in our teams development, it was definitely the right choice.

Hey San Jose, you know you could save this 'only playing well against teams in playoff positions' thing until, you know, the playoffs?

They were too busy working on this gem:

nhl.com headline on Brodeur's win against Florida: MARTY CITY

The nhl.com headline generator, since recovering from its attack by the Syrian Electronic Army, has been reading our Florida Panthers sponsorship jokes, I see! And yes, I do like to think it's a sentient robot and not an actual person. No mere human could approach nhl.com's sheer breadth of bad puns.

It would also explain their laughable "power rankings..."

Buffalo's playing themselves out of the top 5. Beat another California team.

They split with the Kings, sweep the Sharks, yet EVERY SINGLE TIME they play the Anaheim Ducks, they crumble like a chocolate chip cookie.

Still Mighty, why is it Buffalo only plays with faux-swagger against the other Cali teams and never yours?
