Yeah, they'll be fine. Especially since the VaTech QB left the game and they don't seem to trust his backup to throw a forward pass.

Yeah. This is ridiculous. They're acting like he's a running back.

Well, he's a few throws in and I can see why. That back foot throw to the sideline was dangerous.

I can't possibly be happier that the kid with the gold watch fumbled.

Ohio State needs to come up with a shotgun wishbone formation with Miller, Barrett, and Jones as the backs. Imagine three backs and all of them can throw. I'm joking...mostly. Kidding aside, there was a time when Bill Walsh was seriously talking about putting Steve Young in at HB and coming up with some sort of option play where either Montana or Young could throw a pass. I wish he'd tried it.

This game is over. Brewer's probably going to be out for at least a month. I really shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

That second quarter showed that Ohio State cannot take their mind off the game for a second. Virginia Tech can bring the heat. Fortunately for Ohio State the only teams on the schedule willing to take as big a risk and get to the backfield are Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan. I wonder if we'll see Miller throw a deep pass from the wildcat. Ezekiel Elliot was barely used last night as well. I was expecting a lot of draws and counters to beat Tech silly before releasing the wideouts on the secondary.

The second quarter was a college team losing focus. When they quit farting around they were unstoppable.

Ohio State has an embarrassment of weapons on offense and Braxton Miller showed he can play football outside of the QB position last night, which was kind of a question mark coming in. It'll be interesting to see how OSU uses him this season. Having a back that can throw the ball that well is a very dangerous threat.

BYU beats Nebraska on an epic Hail Mary.

BYU's receivers are just really tall. That's about it.

I don't think BYU actually has a Hail Mary in their playbook:

I tend to stay away from college football talk on Facebook because, let's face it, most people who discuss it on Facebook could be outsmarted by a lemming that's been dead 15 years. Today one of my minions at work posted a status about SEC Domination of the polls. Okay, that's cool. As dumb as early season polls are, he's right. There are 10 SEC teams in the Top 25.

The herp-derp moment came along when his brother/cousin/whatever commented "Stats don't lie." POLLS AREN'T STATS! THEY'RE :censored:ING POLLS WHICH, BY DEFINITION, ARE FULL OF SUBJECTIVE OPINIONS! Took everything I had to not hop into those comments to bitch slap him.

But, Paul Finebaum makes the stats himself, amiright?

Paul doesn't make the stats, he just avails the platform for Tammy, Phyllis, and "Legend" to give America theirs.

Boise State Texas is such a contrived joke. Let's start with the blue field base incompetence.

Fixed that for you. You also owe Steve Patterson $100 for reading this post and $200 for using the Longhorn logo as your avatar.

Oh, I'm aware the Longhorns are are fraud. We do have history, though. The Boise State fans I've heard demand a ton of respect as if they have a huge legacy. I don't believe they've earned it.

CS85, I wasn't even discussing/defending Texas.

ESPN's "Cover Alerts" not amusing Big XII executives.

Note: Big XII has a split contract with FOX , whose Audible podcast had Bruce Feldman and Stu Mandel spend an entire episode on one-day fantasy football and DraftKings, which FOX has a 15% stake, but said nothing.

I do. They're basically the best non P5 school in the last two decades. And they're based in Boise, Idaho of all places.

Dumb blue field or not, they're no slouches.

I'm not liking Fox calling games from the studio. Rob Stone isn't very good at it. Was there an issue with the announcing team at the game? I know they did that last night too.

No issues, just "experimenting" according to FOX.

But it really saves a lot of money.

In reality, working remotely from L.A. cost them up to 30% less.
