Lonesome Hipster Bacon Coyotes Fan brought 7,400 fellow breakfast meats with him to the Jobberdome tonight, according to official figures.

Should we rename this topic, "NHL Merry-Go-Round?"

Just saying.

So...yeah. All of that whining and moaning and condensation from the Coyotes "faithful" and how if they just got a new owner the fanbase would support the team. Well they have new, seemingly committed ownership with deep pockets. And the team's competitive to boot, currently sitting at third place in the Pacific Division.

Yet the Coyotes are 30th in the league for average attendance. That number being 11,717. The AVERAGE is just barely above the Jobberdome's half capacity mark. I know none of this is new or news, but I felt like it had to be stated given the levels of intellectual bankruptcy and smug coming from Coyotes fans, both here and elsewhere throughout this saga. You guys got everything you wanted. Stable, rich ownership AND a competitive team. Still no one cares. Screw you, your poorly thought out arena/strip mall, and your team.

The worst part of all of this is that it's STILL relatively hard to find cheap Coyotes tickets. This franchise is so dumb.

To be fair about Thursday, I would rather go trick-or-treating on the block that has the Bible pamphlets instead of candy, the caramel tainted with drugs, AND the guy you're pretty sure is a child molester than watch the Coyotes play the Nashville Predators.

Still, it is a team they've played in the playoffs recently. (And I was at those games. They did sell out amazingly enough. And that was after they dispatched the Blackhawks.)

But man, seriously? 7400? That is beyond pathetic. Those that have frequented these threads know that I've tried to defend this team and fanbase in many different ways. There are no more excuses. I have no way to try and spin this thing.

If the arena was downtown or in Scottsdale, would it be better? Yeah sure, it'd be better, but now I'm really not sure how much better. Now that we've dipped to seven freaking thousand people... I just, I have no words. I'm sorry hockey fans of Phoenix. Enjoy these next five years of NHL hockey, because it's all you're going to get. I'm sure you'll love your new ECHL team in time.

And for whatever comparison you can make, the Suns drew 17000+ for their Wednesday opener vs Portland and 14000+ Friday vs Utah.

They haven't even played a quarter of their home games yet.

It's a little early to be complaining about their attendance.

The Coyotes' home attendance through 7 games this season is lower than their home attendance through 7 games last season. I'd say that's a perfectly fair comparison.

But think of the beautiful mall next door. The God-damn, freaking mall!
