The_Admiral
Then what the hell happens to the Scotiabank Tire Palladium?I dunno, what happened to the Memphis Pyramid? Didn't they stick a Bass Pro Shops in it? Do that. Or make it into a grocery store or a movie theater like other old Canadian arenas. 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

youcan'tseeme
Then what the hell happens to the Scotiabank Tire Palladium? It's not like its old or out of date. And Ottawa doesn't exactly seem like a two arena town.I think the obvious answer is a cyborg recreation of the original Silver Seven, that's right a 2nd Ottawa team. For whatever it's worth, the Palladium's location in the middle of nowhere makes it less than perfectly fine. If they can build downtown with their own money, or money that isn't public, hey, go for it. You're getting like $33 million a year from TSN, use some of that. The_Admiral
I believe the Civic Centre is underneath the bleachers of Ottawa's football field, which instinctively makes any teenage girls in attendance start giving out handjobs. 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

mcj882000
Yeah I know he's a Detroiter- I used to love the Jr. Red Wings/Whalers. Never really read into the guy but heard some shady stuff about the Hartford move. Never heard about the Auburn Hills thing, but it probably would've been more successful than Carolina. TONS of money in Oakland County. Plus the Palace is a great hockey venue. Used to go to Vipers games at least 10 times a year. Funny that we were just talking about this. Karmanos is looking at relocating the Whalers to Chatham, ON. Not a bad move. I'm very surprised Chatham doesn't have an OHL team by now. Same with Brantford. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/jrhockey-buzzing-the-net/-hopefully--chatham---peter-karmanos-stirs-up-plymouth-whalers-relocation-rumours-034200053.htmlChatham's one of my family's hometowns; I was born there, my dad's whole family grew up there, and a few of them still live there, so this is pretty cool from a personal standpoint.I believe the Civic Centre is underneath the bleachers of Ottawa's football field, which instinctively makes any teenage girls in attendance start giving out handjobs. It is. A CHL team, two memorial cups, two WHA teams, an NHL team, and an NLL team. But I say sort of because besides the 67's, the average team stays there for one and a half seasons. The_Admiral
Lately, for example, he’s been really into Zambia rock. Zambia rock? He picks up a black-and-yellow album sleeve sitting on the floor next to him, describing how a wave of psychedelic rock ’n’ roll came out of the African country of Zambia decades ago. “So it’s called ‘Zamrock,’” he says, explaining that the record is a reissue of a 1976 album by a Zamrock band called Salty Dog. (They sound like a Jimi Hendrix cover band.) “I never heard this record until I bought it,” he says. “I just read a bit about them. Just great stuff.” George Stroumbolopoulos is the real-life version of the Kids in the Hall's "He's Hip, He's Cool, He's 45": 1 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The_Admiral
Luongo can play really well when nobody particularly cares how he plays. They're playing lockdown defense in lieu of trying to score. They're beneficiaries of point inflation. That pretty much covers it. Fortunately, the playoffs don't start today; this thing isn't built to last. Guest
If the playoffs started today, Panthers would be in. How did that happen?A full 28% of their games have ended in overtime or shootout losses. They have the same number of wins as Buffalo. FiddySicks
Ottawa does seem like the kind of town where a big parcel of downtown land could sit undeveloped for fifty years. "Hey, can we put some condos here?" "Condos? Oh, I don't know if we're ready to think that big."This reminds me so much of the tour guide I had on one of those double decker bus tours in Victoria, BC earlier this year."If you look to the left you can see the original capital building of Vic-Tor-Yah, which is has now been turned into condaminyums. To your right, you'll see the first courthouse, which has recently been transformed into Vic-Tor-Yah's second newest set of condaminyums. Now we're passing through the oldest China Town in North America, which is the home of Vic-Tor-Yah's newest set of condaminyums. Just beyond the capital building is the oldest tree in Canada. It used to be in an open field, but it now sits in the courtyard of brand new, you guessed it, condaminyums." Condaminyums as far as the eye can see, I tell ya.
